Limewire has a lot of spyware on it, although it has more choices than bittorrent.
Bittorrent works by collecting fragments of files from all the uploaders. This makes it less likely to get a virus than from limewire. Downside to bittorrent is that it takes a lot longer to download.
I've used Bittorrent for years, and I've never gotten a virus from it. Although it's still possible to get bad stuff from it, it's a lot less likely than from limewire. Just to be safe, scan everything with an antivirus software like Norton or McCaffee before running it.

I like BitTorrent because you can download the entire cd or discography all at once. I think Limewire has a bigger selection though. I don't believe I've gotten a virus using BitTorrent, just be careful with what you download.

It depends on what you wanna download. If you wanht to download songs, then I would download Limewire...if you want movies or other files like that, then I would suggest BitTorrent...but let me warn you, BitTorrent is slow, very slow.

most sites test them before being seeded. it is better than limewire for downloading movies in my opinion. if you're doing songs limewire is faster. i never got a virus off of torrent but almost did using limewire.

What causes you to have a virus is not the software you use to download but the source of the files you're downloading. Therefore, whichever of the two is used, when it comes to security, none is better.
