Do you like your current receiver?

You could try a separate video processor like DVDO or the like.

But by far the receiver that does it all, including draining you pocket book is the 5805 from Denon.

The video up-conversion to HDMI is good but not as flexible as a separate video processor. I recommend looking first at a video processor then maybe a do all receiver.

In aadition to the above suggestions, atke a close look at Onkyo TX-sr605 (about $450) and TX-sr805 (about $800). They are equipped with HDMI 1.3. This will allow you to listen to new HD uncompressed audio formats -- DTS HD and Dolby HD (available on HD and Blu-Ray DVDs). They are far superior to standard Dolby and DTS - like SACD or CD superior to 192kb MP3.

Don't look any farther than the Onkyo 990 THX. By far the best under a grand system that there is.
