Hey, how do I remove the factory stereo in a 96 tacoma, are there screws hidden somewhere?

To do this right you will probably have to look around the stero and disassemble part of the dash by removing screws. Some newer cars also have a puller, or a slot in the side of the factory stero that you can place a tool in and pop the sucker right out!! If there are not any slots you will have to take the facing off of your dash to get to the screws on the back of the deck that hold it to the truck. Unless you know what you are doing I wouldn't reccomend you install one by yourself, at least get someone who has been there and done that....Most bigger operations will install for free anyways..

The hidden screws are under the climate control panel. You need to pull the climate control knobs off the shafts; then the plate on the front of the climate control module can be snapped off. If you have an AC button it needs to come out also. Once the front plate is off, you'll see the two screws underneath that secure the dash panel surrounding the radio.

ether scres or clips, the clips break easy, sumtimes theres both screws and clips
