Hi everyone!
I'm moving to Norway after I graduate high school to live with some family, but I only know basic Norwegian, and even that's a bit shaky! What's the best way to learn Norwegian?

My relatives have offered to take me in if my family in the US takes one of their members...kind of like a foreign exchange program, but between family members.

People have given some good resources, also I'd suggest Teach Yourself Norwegian (in the Teach Yourself series) as it is a good tutorial and uses relevant phrases that are actually useful.

Even if you cant learn much before you go, you will pick it up quickly once you're here. I didn't have much time to study before I moved, but there are tons of places that offer language course once you move. And speaking it every day definitely helps!

As you already speak some norwegian, you should try to chat with natives to improve your "everyday language". Of course, you might also need a good teaching book. And you can watch norwegian TV online and listen to the radio on www.nrk.no

I have a lot more links for you, but they're too much to list them here, so just have a look at http://mitglied.lycos.de/juronjaure/ , click on language resources on the left.

Hei, Linz

You can check out my website: http://NorwegianLanguage.info which has tons of info (and suggested books, cds) if you'd like. If you want to join an active group, try norskklassen, a Yahoo group.
