You don't need to temper SS pans.

You don't have to temper stainless steel pans....you are probably thinking of seasoning cast iron pans. To do that, coat the entire cast iron pan with Crisco and bake at 425degrees for at lest 2 hours. Put a pan under the cast iron to catch any drips. Remove and wipe with paper toweling when cool enough. This will serve as the first seasoning. It will take several seasonings or many uses using fats (bacon, beef, etc.) before you get a truly seasoned pan and then things will not stick. Just wipe clean with a damp cloth and scrape off any big pieces when cleaning. This will help in keeping the pan seasoned. Do not use soap. Hope this helps.

There is nothing you have to do at home to temper them... they come tempered from the manufacturer.

Um... You aren't talking about seasoning cast iron pans, are you????
