I'm afraid you will, but be careful when you water that plant and not get any water on the eggs, she will come back eventually when she thinks you are not around.

You might not scare the mother away, but you could damage the eggs. Touching the eggs or nest and the mother not returning is an old wives tale. The chicks actually breathe thru the shell and you could drowned them. Try to water around the nest, or if possible have a drip water system.

Yes, you will, but only temporarily. Did you water the plants while she was building the nest? If you did, and she came back and laid the eggs, I doubt that you will scare her off for good now. Just be very careful not to dislodge the nest or knock any eggs out of it.

I would try to be careful and water it at the side. Any chance you have one of those squeeze bottles with a long, J shaped tube on it?
The bird might even like water being served to her. :)
