I'm not one of those Hendrick haters, but I seen this article and found it interesting. I just want opinions on the subject.

out for justice -
I don't get where you think I hate Gordon. I don't. Did you read everything I wrote, I said I'm not a Hendrick hater, I was just asking opinions on the article. You are going way over board, and I don't think this is the 1st time you've gotten rude with me.

no they are not going to suspend the drivers, they will suspend the chiefs if they are to be consistent...and fines and points, but no way will they suspend the drivers...look what Kurt Bush did and they did not dump him, he sat in a wrecked car the rest of the day and poof hes still driving

I don't think that they should or will suspend them for the infractions to their cars. In the case of Kurt Busch almost injuring an innocent crew member on pit road I would think a DRIVER suspension is warranted. When it comes something on or in the car that is all on the crew chief. I understand that they want to get there point across and when you have drivers with such a points cushion penalizing them 100 points doesn't seem like much of a deterrent. However, they already lost points in poorer finishes at Sonoma than if they had been able to start up further in the pack. By Chad and Steve getting suspended they will be penalized by not having their direct input at the track. Just because they are very good and can "afford" the points penalty doesn't mean they should be crucified for a less severe infraction than many others we've seen so far this season. Just because it's HMS most people want to see them branded with a big C on their forehead and kicked out of NASCAR. Yes they WERE trying to get a competitive advantage, that's what crew chiefs get paid for. Now they and everyone else knows not to mess with areas outside the templates. People should be thanking them for being in a position to test the waters (so now they all know) instead of allowing their Hendrick hate to cloud their opinion SO lopsided on this issue.

Hell yeah Gordon And Johnson both should be docked 100 pnts fined money crew chief suspended and the drivers suspended for two races ...they have done this before not with the cot but last year they were caught and it should be a stiff warning to any driver trying to alter there car's .if u cany race with what u got dont race then...plus it will show fans that hendrick is not invincible and nascar is not being fixed as stewart kindof stated earlier this year ..makes u wonder if hendrick cheated the first 10 or 11 victories this year as well ..they will probably get a slap on the wrist though unlike what happened to jr

Nascar said at the start of the season "Don't try to alter the COT in "any" way or else the penalties will be most severe." Chad and Steve, crew chiefs for Johnson and Gordon DID alter their COT cars and were caught....yes, there will be big penalties to crew chiefs, drivers and the owner handed down on Tuesday and announced on www.nascar.com...while Johnson and Gordeon were not around when the altewring was done, nonetheless, Nascar considers drivers part of the entire team and accountable for wrongdoing of any kind.

Jeff and Jimmie became the first Drivers punsihed for a failed inspection. In the past Teams that failed inspection simply pulled the backup car off the hauler, got that inspected, practiced, and qualified with that.

This is the first time NASCAR has benched a Driver for a failed inspection. So as far as suspending Drivers; NASCAR just did that.

Pertaining to this situation; because the rule was not even on the books; it was something NASCAR fabricated on the spot that very day at that very moment; the whole thing was unjust from the word "Go". So to suspend these two Drivers for NASCAR Penciled Rulebook shinangans is outrageous and will have serious ramifications from Fans and Sponsors, not to mention the fact that they may even get dragged into court over it.

Every Sport has those who violate the rules. When a Team breaks a rule its the same as when a Football Team is caught off-sides; or in Basketball when a shot foul is made. But in Football, Basketball, Baseball, F1, IRL, the rules are clear and concise. In NASCAR they are penciled in and made up as the season goes along.

When NASCAR can't even get itself straight it has no business suspending Drivers or Crew Chiefs. It needs to suspend itself for it's recent surge of stupidity; that or bring Bill France Jr. back from the grave to straight out the mess they have made.

They did what they have always been aloud to do. As long as it fits their templates they are aloud to tweak for extra down force. I'm quite sure that Hendrick was not the only one that did it just the one they decided to point out. It's just like one time last year when they found something in pre-race but didn;t say anything about it until the race was over,he had won and then they decided to fine him. Cheaters? The only cheaters in Nascar is Nascar.

they will not suspend the drivers, the just get into the car and drive and have very little input on how the cars are built other than the way it handles which can be adjusted through springs,trac-bar, shocks and tire pressures. the areas in question are up to the crew chief and car engineer. i ain't
gonna blame them for trying to get a little advantage, but the signals put out at the beginning of the year "don't mess with the c.o.t. if you go out of bounds we will hit you where it hurts".
about 49 cars were on the entry list and as far as we know only 2 cars failed the pre-race inspection the 24 +the 48 cars.
i think nascar will hit them up with a unprecedented fine as far as owners points and drivers points to bring their point home(apparently they didn't learn from dale jr's penalty, their logic, not mine). Nascar giveth, Nascar can take a wayith.

Not only would Nascar upset legions of fans by suspending the drivers, but they have to answer to an even higher authority then us fans and thats the sponsers. You think Dupont and Lowes would be very happy seeing their cars parked for a race or two? While suspending drivers may very well stop any monkey buisness in the shops,it will become that much easier to suspend drivers for almost anything and thats a slippery slope Nascar should avoid at all costs.

Why do a penalty to the drivers, they had no idea of this small infraction, the blame lays on the crew chief and body man. Send some of the pit crew home or maybe for each infraction take a man out of the pit crew who go over the wall. You know like Ice Hockey, if 6 can go over the wall and you get caught doing things that are deemed an infraction, only 5 can go over the wall and send him and the crew chief home. After all if a driver does some stupid Bush moves the driver gets sent to THE NASCAR HAULER.

There is a big difference between what Earnhart did and Jimmy and Gordon did the pieces that where in question on there car was hand made and if nascar want them exact then they should have them stamped and given to the drivers and crews. I am to the point with nascar that I hope that when At&t counter sues them i hope At&t wins nascar is so twisted it needs to be stopped

No, if they suspend Gordon, and Johnson, Then Jr. Waltrip, Kahne, and Saddler best be right off the track also. If they get the same fine and points, they will have been punished more anyway, for not being able to qualify or practice on Friday, where all the others did, and that wasn't right? So basically they have already started their punishment.
How the hell did I forget Busch, He should have been for sure.
