I don't mind cooking - as a matter of fact, I would like to cook more.

I don't like Weight Watchers, I will use all my points on pizza. I am better off on a diet where they limit the bad foods.

find daily calorie intake calculator on the net, enter all your stats and it will tell you how many calories you need a day to maintain, take off 300-400cal off that number and thats how much you need to lose.
eat 5-6 small meals a day (eat every 2-3 hours - it optimizes your metabolism)
5-8 servings of fruit and veggies a day
8 glasses of water
have complex carbs for breakfast - they give you energy
have protein (lean meat, legumes etc) for dinner - repairs muscle
cardio exercise 4-6 times a week for 30-50min (ideally 45min because the first 20-30min body burns carbs and only then starts burning fat), light weight training (more muscle=faster metabolism)
dont consume foods that are made of white flour (white bread, cakes, pasta etc.), sugar loaded foods (cookies, icecream, candy etc) and nothing fried, oily.
ofcourse you can spoil yourself once in a while with a little treat:)
and take a multivitamin with breakfast and omega or flax oil capsules.
for recipes check out shape.com community - it helped me a lot.

To be completely honest, the only real diet out there is eating right and exercise. Things like Weight Watchers, South Beach Diet, and Atkins can cause acute weight loss but and in the end are a bad way to lose weight. Too many people is this country are focused on their weight, and feel that extremes are the only solution. But your body was designed to lose weight with proper exercise and an appropriate diet, with some will power. Of course, though, if you are very concerned you should have a visit with your primary doctor or even a dietitian.

Apropos for someone who calls herself "geekgirl", you might want to check out "The Hacker's Diet". The book itself doesn't say anything earth-shattering; losing weight is a matter of consuming fewer calories than your body uses. It's worth looking at, however. Here's the URL:

A very good, fun diet is a high protein diet. The food is a wide selection and good as well.

savor your treats out of the living house. Pop to the ice cream parlour for any scoop of your common style, or plan a meal handle with acquaintances on the weekend. Turning your cravings right into a robust journey takes the temptation faraway from snacking at living house.
