Exactly!!!
(Assuming it was meant as a rhetorical question).
My analytical mind questions it all.
But one thing I have noticed. In my darkest moments when its just me and despair, my instinct goes without question to prayer to a higher power.
It is of non denomination. It is pure hope, understanding and a sense of salvation.
I don't understand it, I just embrace it and it has become my own path to understanding where I belong and my path to survival.
I believe that instinct is truth as it is not adulterated by conscious mind

The weak human mind.... who want to be taken care of even after death and clings to life with every breath.
There is also a difference between believing in a higher power and claiming to know what that higher power is. One is understandable the other is delusional.

I think it is a nice idea of a higher power, but the more I learn/study about different religions and higher powers the more I see the conflict and that it maybe just a delusion.

A lot of religions going around at the time the old testament was put together. What has been called myths by some of our later religions have actually been copied and are now considered factual by the believers of the newer religions.

Delusional or not, belief in a higher power has restored countless lives to sanity and health through that belief and the 12 steps. Please don't discount that which has helped so many people!
Furthermore, countless millions of people have spent their lives in spiritual growth. Don't discount them either.

Those who spread "the word," who want money and power; the power to rule the thoughts and minds of gullible people who will believe anything. It's very dangerous actually.

The Holy Spirit is a great architect indeed. One day he has us on the ground crying out to God. The next day he raises us up to the highest place. Praise God.

Religion is a mental illness handed down from one generation to the next through "early intervention" (brainwashing of children).
This is child abuse.
