Go see a Podiatrist - a full Medical Doctor that treats all the feet symptoms you can imagine. Running is hard, working on a treadmill is hard, and you need to change your shoes often, as the inner padding only holds up for 4-6 months at a time. My boss' recommend New Balance brand shoes, the 800/900 series for all of their general patients. But you do need to see a Podiatrist to check and make sure that you are not creating any bone spurs or have plantar faciitis. The sooner you get some professional accessment in place, the better. They can also fit you for custom made prescription orthotics, which usually last about 2 - 5 years, depending upon how often used and for what purpose.

Ask your doctor - you might have a strain injury in your foot, or even a hairline stress fracture. You need an x-ray to rule out any bone problems.

I would also say you need a good pair of sneakers with proper sole support for walking. A sports shoe shop can help you - they have them foot machines that tell you your foot shape and all that stuff that you need to get the best kind of shoe.

Wear cushiony shoes - my husb, mom , and kids all like New Balance [ get some black ones ]. Better yet, get 2 pair of cushiony shoes and alternate days [ shoes last longer, and support better when given a day off to dry out completely ].
Measure your feet in case your size has changed.
If you are overweight, lose it - that helps a lot!
Can you elevate your feet at lunchtime?
Try support hose/socks.
Is there one particular spot that hurts? Write back if so.
If you don't start feeling better in a few weeks, go to the podiatrist.

You really have to just break the bank my friend and buy a really good pair of shoes. They're gonna cost you, but any price is worth MY feet from not hurting.

sounds like you need to start treatment with any OTC NSAID, like Aleve, or Ibuprofen, taht will keep the inflamation out, so as to prevent any further damage, go to a shoe insole store, pick up a pair of orthodics inserts custom molded to your feet, and if thepain is still as bad as you make it seem, the you might make an appointment with an orthopedic specialist. Hope you feel better

I worked at home depot for years and had the same problem. get a pair of shoes/sneaks/boots that are really comfortable and made for standing/walking extended periods of time, GET the gel insoles, and wear something at home with arch support so you're not walking around barefoot until you can get at least 8 continuous hrs off your feet.

you most likely have plantar fascitis. it's common for folks who walk or run a LOT or carry a lot of heavy loads to have this, it means that the bottom padding of your foot inside is swollen from all the footwork.

if this is what you have, it hurts even when you're not on your feet and it hurts a lot right after you get out of bed and put your feet on the ground.

icing your feet bottoms helps. getting padded shoes helps. working less hard or walking/running less strenuously helps.

I started using the 'walkfits' and it worked the same day for my heel pain. After a few weeks my knee problems began to clear up too.

elevate feet or put flat magnets in your shoes (neg. side against skin)
ice works miracles also. And Motrin kicks butt
