If we evolved from monkeys, then why are all the monkeys still around?

You fool, the monkeys that are on earth today are not the same creatures that all primates evolved from. They may be very similar, but they are different. We will always have rodents because they fill a nich.......there will always be energy there for a rodent like creature to exploit, so why change? Natural selection will keep rodents in that nich, and allow other offshoots to perhaps evolve beyond that nich, but there will probably always be that main line of rodents that are very alike. Same with monkeys and primates.

Not all of them are still around. I learned that we evolved from prehistoric ones, since it takes millions of years for evolution to occur. The monkeys that can't evolve... well.... are still monkeys.

It's easier to understand after taking a course on Anthropology.

Humans evolved from using stone tools to computer tools.
Animals however, evolved in different ways. That's the big difference being human oppose from animals. Humans has spitit, because we were made in God's image, not the animals. God bless.

lol....uhhhhh...well cause....well there was that almost transitional species they found once..but it turned out to be just another ape....then that one...well it was ape too...gee cause we never evolved from monkeys in the first place? and animals never change into another species they merely live or die? yeah i'll go with that one.
