I'm looking to buy a bike--probably the Scott Contessa 10, but my brother has a Yeti, and I'd LOVE a yeti as well, but I'd also like a female specific bike. I don't know if yeti makes female specific bikes. And I'm on a limited budget as I'm a senior in high school and saving for a car and for college.

Thanks so much for your time!

How tall are you? WSD (women specific design) are not for all women. If you're a short women then you'd probably benefit from one, but if not any standard bike can help you.

Look at this link.

I'm not recomending Titus (well, I own one - a Moto Lite) and loooove it, but it's a very good brand (on par with Yeti), and that page has a lot of general info on women fit, not only Titus specific.

But it depends on how much money you have. I doubt you'd find a Yeti or Titus for less than 1,500 usd.

Scott is very good too.

In my opinion, if you really love a bike, try to get it.

Going by the Yeti cycles website they obviously don't have any female specific frames. Nor are any of their sponsored riders female. Nor does Googling "yeti cycles female riders" etc bring up any results. So it's not looking good unfortunately, which is a shame as Yeti make awesome frames.

Have you tried riding one of their bikes anyway - regardless of who it's made for? I know plenty of women who ride guy specific frames with no problem - there are plenty of frames out there that can handle both, but obviously, the companies that do the research into women specific frames are the best possible option. Having said that Yeti 575 and AS-R both have quite low slung top tubes like a female specific bike, so once again - give one of them a go (I am of course, assuming you're a Trail/XC rider when I suggest those 2 frames - for all I know you could be looking for a DH shredder, so you can tear down a mountain and say things like "Dude, I totally pinned that corner" while skulling a can of Red Bull)

But if you're after a female specific frame I would lean towards the Scott Contessa (slightly biased - I'm a Scott rider) - either the 10 you mentioned or move up to dual suspension and get the FX-25 or 15 which are both based on Scott's Genius suspension concept, which is fantastic (in my aforementioned biased opinion). Other than that, Specialized's female frame line-up is pretty good as well.
