This remains an ongoing argument. I don't care what anyone says, there ARE certain breeds that DO NOT SHED AND HAVE ALMOST ZERO DANDER, IF ANY!!
I have Yorkies. They do not shed, not one tiny, little bit. I have people that are totally allergic that can bury their faces in my dog's fur and they are fine
The yorkie does not have an undercoat of fur that most dogs have. Their fur is more like human hair because of that and they do not have dander.
Since I have not had any other dogs that are supposed to be hypoallergenic, I can't say that about any other breed.

hypo allergenic dogs like poodles, shih tzu, bichons, etc. all have extra grooming needs but make wonderful pets for the person who is a match for their lifestyle needs. I would suggest looking at breeds on the AKC webiste for informational purposes. choosing a dog based on this one attribute alone is extremely risky. What I mean, is perhaps u don't want a barky dog, or u want a dog that can run with u, so u need high energy breed, or u want a highly trainable dog, not one that is known to be stubborn. It's an easy thing to research and you'll be so much happier finding a match to your lifestyle. the coats with hair are continually growing and makes these breeds higher maintence, in daily brushing, as well as grooming tools for home and $ for prof. grooming. Just something to consider! good luck!

Either a a Chinese crested dog, or a short haired Chiwawa (spelt wrong lol), sure it has a bit of hair, but still it is manageable, also they don't shed, and they are non-allergenic, so even people with allergies can own them.. hope i helped.

I had a bet on this---there is NO DIFFERENCE (I won). People have hair, dogs & cats have fur!
If you are asking for low allergen, go with a bichon frise or poodle. And PLEASE look into rescue!
