i pierced my ears twice and they both closed. a few hours ago, i pierced one of my ears again on that same hole. i sterillized the needle by holding it over a fire and alcohol. will there be a chance that my ear will get an infection?

Way the hell higher than if you would have gone to a professional piercer to get it done. Just because you pierced it again doesn't mean it'll get infected. The fact that you used a "sterilized" needle, in your home, and probably don't have very good jewelery in it which you possibly forgot to clean before putting it in your fresh bloody hole.. that makes it quite likely you'll get it infected.

I know it's free, but let me put it this way: If it DOES get infected and you don't do the correct things, you could DIE. Or you'll have to spend a LOT more money to get it cleaned out and fixed, and it's very likely you could be scarred really badly. The death is unlikely but the risk greatly increases when you pierce your own ears.

Clean it with 1/4 teaspoon of sea salt mixed in 8 oz or hot water. Don't clean it with anything else. This is the BEST thing for your piercing.

It most likely wont get infected. just clean it twice a day for five minutes. Go buy some titanium jewelery to put in it.

by the way, fire does not sterilize. Despite what you may have heard.

There's always a chance but since you've already done one, just keep it clean by putting rubbing alcohol on it often during the day. Make sure you are wearing good earrings. Gold or silver. Cheaper metals might cause a reaction. Keep the earring in for several weeks or change it right away...don't leave earrings out or the holes will close again. Also, turn your earring often in your ear so it won't stick:( If you haven't already done the other ear, try going to a professional. Many places that sell earrings will do it for you quickly and easily.

There is always a chance for infection, whether you did it yourself or not. Just make sure you keep the earing in and keep it clean.
And don't follow advice about going to Claires. You should always be pierced with a needle. Going to a tattoo studio that has a piercer is the way to go.

it's never a good idea to do it yourself. Fire as a dis- infectant is not a good idea. Think of all the toxic fumes and chemicals released in fire as well as soot. Alchohol is better but not perfect. Next time, pay the couple of bucks to have it done safely and properly. Watch for redness, tiching, swelling ot discharge from the piercing. If it starts, play it safe and see the doc. Don't treat it yourself OK?

a very, very small chance since you sterillized the needle. If I were you I would get my ears done some where like Claire's because there is an even less chance of infection. Plus the peircing is free...if you buy earings and antiseptic from them.

it rather is purely a piercing, will not be able to you wait till your sixteen? you may harm you mum and dad thoughts in case you circulate at the back of their backs. No i does not harm. there is greater of of project of your ears getting contaminated in case you get it pierced with a gun, it rather is suited to get it executed with a needle (frightening i comprehend) even though it rather does not harm, for a chop up 2d it hurts a tiny bit yet then the ear is going numb. Gok Wan has stretched ear lobes, so except your making plans to stretch your ears, i could decide for the stud. good good fortune on in spite of you confirm.
