Scabbing is not a normal occurrence - those who say all tattoos scab are wrong. Congratulations.
In a perfect situation, it will peel like a sunburn does because the outer layer of skin that is damaged during the tattoo process must shed (exfoliate).
You should be completely healed before getting it wet by swimming - listen to your tattoo artist - most will say 3-4 weeks. I say two full weeks after all signs of peeling or changes have occurred.
Sun - stay out of it. Plain and simple. You will wreck the tattoo at any point in time. That being said, I know it is impossible to comply - sunblock does very little to protect from fading, but you do have very fresh new skin there that will burn very easily. Again, at least two full weeks after healing and then with repeated applications of sunblock.

it is NOT supposed to scab if it scabs it is TOO DRY. if your tattoo isnt scabbing then keep doing what your doing. it should peel slightly, very thin pieces, like an onion skin or after a sunburn (but not quite). you need to stay out of the sun for 30 days after the tattoo, and you cant go swimming or submerge the tattoo until it is COMPLETELY healed. dont let the shower water beat on it either. you also need to put sunscreen on it every single time you go into the sun after it has healed to keep it from fading faster.
NO NEOSPORIN.
A&D ointment only. and listen to that guy who said hes been a tattoo artist for 20 years, he knows. and tat bratt.

well you can take a shower just not a bath u kno like soaking in the water. It usually takes a week to start scabbing and two weeks to be half way healed. You shouldnt go into the sun with it though it can fade ur tattoo and you would have to get a touch up later on. Just keep it moisturized with bacitracin or vaseline!

I would avoid sunlight for at least 1 or 2 weeks and I would avoid swimming in a pool for a few weeks too. it will start to scab soon. maybe you heal slowly. who knows, but keep it protected and clean...I avoid sun and pools for a month after I get my tattoos. can never be too careful with something permanent

4 days isn't bad.....some heal fast and some don't....yours
is doing fine.
You should wait til it's truly healed........which should be 3-4
weeks.
Don't go swimming, chlorine will take color out, lakes, streams, and ponds have bacteria in them and you may get an infection. The sun will take color out too.....no baths...shower only, and don't let the water hit the tat for any
length of time. Wash with hands, not a washcloth, blot dry with towel....apply moisturizer, do not glob, rub in with finger.
When it starts to itch, don't scratch it........slap it lightly or apply
a little rubbing alcohol with a paper towel........hold til itching
stops then apply moisturizer.

the scabbing takes different amount of time for everyone. make sure you keep putting neosporin on it. You need to wait for it to heal completely before you go in water. and sunlight; ALWAYS wear sunscreen on it to ensure proper healing and no sunburning or fading. Good Luck.

i would wait a few weeks. some scab heavily, some don't. if you have to get wet, wrap the area in plastic or just avoid getting that part wet if possible. cover the tat in an antibiotic for a few days too until it starts to make some noticeable healing progress. then use a vitamin e lotion on it after that.
