Hard wood floors will save you money in the long run compared to regular carpeting.
Bruce Hardwoods will generally run about 76.00 per 25 square feet to purchase plus installation.
The initial cost is about 20% more than top grade carpet with padding, but don't fall for an expenssive money con, buy your floors prefinished it will save you money in labor and in time spent away from home while the multiple coats of polyurethane dries.

I was given an estimate over the phone so it is only ballpark. It was for a 12' X 30' room. Oak with three coats of polyurethane--$3,000 and I live in NH.

They are not cheap.
A friend had them done for a 3/2 house.
Hers was $16,000.00.
But the worst was that the wood off gassed and damaged her lungs. She is on oxygen now and had to be out of the house for three months while the off gassing was allowed to escape the house.
