avatars of Jesus and other Holy things? If you do not believe---fine, leave it at that but, why be nasty too? I thought you preferred to be known for your intellegence and not your fiestiness?

To my friends who are Pagans and Atheists, I am not devastated and I do not have a problem that can not be lived with and I understand that the majority of you do not do this but, maybe the others do not know that it is bothersome

Midge, why are you choosing to be offended at that sort of stuff?

Now that you mention it, Martha Jones' feistiness is definitely a part of her appeal. You do realize that when you get worked about small things like this, sometimes it's too tempting to take the bait and work it into a bit of humor. Lighten up and not only will you be less bothered, there will be less material to work with.

But seriously, if the occasional Christian avatar gets your goat, then remember you have that much in common with Islam.

I hate to answer a question with a question, but why do the"Faithful" complain about what the Atheist do..when they are just as bad? You don't want people picking on your religion yet every single question I've seen directed at Atheists from God-heads are not to find out about us or our beliefs ..its to tell us we suck because we don't share yours.

The real question is why do religious people go against your own creeds to do the very same thing. It's just an object it is your God that gives it mean so who gives a fig if someone mocks it. Does it change that you love God? Um..No. Does it change.. that you think you're superior because you love God? Um...no? So stop crying about it. Stop wearing and buying religious things when you're supposed to worshiping your God not kneeling to a wooden cross... or getting mad a 25x25 square or a man who does not even fit the physical description in most of the religious books I have read of your God.

Excuse me while I descend from the soap box..the air's thin up here and I am getting a nose bleed.

How is a picture of Jesus "nasty", or "being nasty". Methinks thou hast perception issues. What if they just like pictures of Jesus. Just because someone doesn't believe in an omnipotent creator being (which is illogical) doesn't mean they don't believe Jesus didn't exist, they might just understand that the mythological version of him isn't logical, but like the man for who he was: i.e. altruistic, wise and compassionate guy?

I think folks are just having a little good-natured fun. Nothing to take all that seriously.
I know I get a good chuckle sometimes out of the Christians poking fun too...

But I have to say "Laptop Jesus, now with Gay" made me laugh so hard I kinda hurt myself!

Agnostic/Athiest here!

I am personally quite amused by it...though I choose not to go the same route...I do get a giggle every now and again. I guess I do understand why you'd be insulted by it. It's just kinda a way to express themselves...and show a little tounge in cheek humor at the same time.

You are correct.

There is no reason to desecrate the things that represent your delusions. Personally, I find them a bit endearing. I can only imagine what Christians would wear 'round there necks if Jesus had been boiled alive.

Why are you religious doorknobs so sensitive when someone does something to you? You do not care when you are imposing yourself on others, forcing your morals and values on others, but when someone uses a religious avatar, you are crying. Buck up cowboy, you certainly do not like the taste of your own medicine.

Avatars and holy things?

Sweetie ignore that. Do they verbally abuse you?

If you show respect you will receive respect.

By the way I saw an avatar with 'Liberals should die' or some such nonsense. I ignored it but I did think he was stupid.

Unfortunately, atheists are pretty cross with theists, because they mess around with their lives: they influence - negatively - everything from censorship to medical research to foreign policy.

So we'll leave you alone when you do the same.
