I understand exactly what you are saying. The pastor may be preaching the truth, but he has no gift of delivery. It's awful to try to sit through a boring speaker of any kind. And, with pastors, it's usually a sign that he lost his love of the ministry. If the Word is alive to him, it will show in his sermon. He will draw often on his personal experiences and give application to the truths he's teaching. If his messages are not stimulating the congregation into applying the truth to their lives, the church is in danger of dying. If the church has nothing to share with the community about what God is doing in their lives, what is the point of congregating......this is where you come to fellowship, worship, learn, share experiences, pray for each other, encourage each other, re-charge to go out into the world and witness. If the leader is dull, soon the church will be also.
Having said all that, I don't think it's an easy problem to solve. If this is the church you love, or grew up in, or would consider it a great loss to leave......you may want to stick it out. You could light a fire under some of the members yourself and start a prayer group especially for your leader.
The other option would be to leave and find a church home that lifts you to a higher plain. We all need that in our churches. Whether it's the leader, the program, the members, the deacons, one family or some other thing that's all wrong, ultimately we shouldn't sacrifice our own growth and our family's just to be loyal to a particular church congregation.
We've had to leave those we love because of the pastor once. He wasn't boring, but we truly believed him to be apostate and the members we loved so much were mesmerized because he had such a great delivery(the opposite of your problem). They believed the lies because they were enthrawled with the man. We couldn't change anything, so we left. Later, of course, he was found out and the church was destroyed by his deceit and then had to dissolve and the building sold. It was a sad thing, but our family wasn't crushed in the crisis and in fact, because we found a new church that was alive and mission minded we grew as Christians. We never regreted that decision. It was done with a lot of prayer and when God said "go", we didn't look back.
The decision can't be made by anyone but you. Pray a lot. Wait to hear from God. Then do whatever He says. He will provide the strength you need to stay or go. God bless you and help you be in a place of joy.

You need to go to church to worship GOD.
Religion is not a spectator sport.
You need to be present with other believers.
Share your frustration with them over coffee.
Tell them you didn't get much out of the sermon.
Not to be critical or gossip, but ask.
Maybe someone else had a great insight which they can share.
Staying home is a temptation from the devil.
Perhaps you could try another church one Sunday.
TV is the last resort for those who cannot get to church.

I still go, i've been at the same church for the last ten years, and the pastor does give the same sermons numerous times, its good to hear the messages mainly because there may be a little somethin the pastor may say that'll hit you, plus its always good to have the fellowship with others.

We all get bored at times in church. I still go to church. Try not to fall asleep and have the pastor use you as an example of what not to do in church. Don't heckle the pastor or sing your songs your own way because it is Rude. I once was not saved and have done all those things. Now I am saved. God bless.

I know of a church where the pastor who started the church resigned. He resigned to sell Amway full time.

Anyway.

While they tried to decide about a new Pastor their Youth Pastor did the preaching. He protested, "I'll only preach twice, then get someone else, I'm not a preacher."

They had him preach for about six months, during which time about 360 of the 400 who had been attending stopped.

They have had a new Pastor now for about 18 months and attendence is rarely more than 100. And their new pastor is a good, Bible based, not boring preacher.

I never bored with my pastor, cause I dont go to church to wacht him, I go there to look for direction of God.
Sometimes I can get bored to be around the same people, that is different, what I would do is go to another church ( same foundation , tha tis Christ ) to meet more believers, and have a refreshment time.

Actually, my pastor is on TV.

I go to Joel Osteen's church - Lakewood.

That church rocks!! It's the ultimate church experience - great people, great preachers, and you walk out of there every sunday feeling like you've just been to a spiritual buffet! It's great.

And when I can't make it, I'll watch it on TV.

still go to church and pray for the pastor. There is more to church then just the sermon: fellowship, the praise component etc. Pray and still go to church.

I surround myself with other believers for fellowship and support as often as I can.
I personally don't like most T.V. preachers, there are a couple I do like but would only limit myself to just them if I were unable to attend Church because I was ill or incapacitated somehow.
