When I had my second son I said that was the last one, but then...6 years later I wanted to try for a girl, wishing so bad to have a baby, got my third child ...a son. I said again, and very sure of myself this fabric is closed, no more children three are enough, and I was making sure that I stayed that way, but I guess It's not what I wanted but what God wanted me to have, so another 6 years later I ended up pregnant with my fourth child, I was so sure this was a baby girl...but no...it was another boy, and I can't even explain the joy that this baby has brought to my life. Each and every single one of my fourth kids are a blessing, and I SUPPORT MY KIDS BY MYSELF, No need for any government assistance, I work very hard to give them what they need and that makes me very proud.

Some people choose to have more than one child which is wonderful if they can financially, physically, and emotionally support them. . .with others, it's a completely different story.
I think it's because birth control is expensive. A lot of times people who have a lot of children are very low income.
Condoms are several dollars a box, prescriptions are anywhere from $5 to $hundreds.
So, they just chance it. . .and, yeah, like the first person said, the government rewards them with a big fat check.

My parents had two kids (myself and a younger brother). Their philosophy was to replace themselves. I wonder why more people don't think this way, or at least considering the population problem and dwindling space and resources to support the exponentially growing population worldwide....
To the people who say that they want to raise their kids in a huge family, b/c they were raised that way....this is just selfish. Think about the problem that you're contributing to before you decide you want that big family. Just one or two kids is fine.
I'm also going to make another observation.....It seems that (not a general rule) poor people have more kids and rich (or at least middle class) have fewer. Logic would tell you this should be the other way around, but someone once (jokingly) told me that maybe they don't have the $$ to go out, so they just stay home and "make babies".

Some families actually want more than one child. Most families have two to three children. It is better for the growth of the first child to have siblings to grow up with.

i have three children, lost my fourth and now i can never have any more kids. i love all my kids and wouldnt be without them, no matter how hard raising them can be both emotionally and financially. my kids are happy, well-fed and have almost everything they want
the issue here is that some people just enjoy being parents
and the more kids they have the more they can be parents to

Umm..well why not? There are people who love kids and the more they have the happier they are...obviously the unwanted pregnancies is from unsafe sex. I mean, not everyone feels the same way you do about kids.

In this era, there's no reason to become pregnant if you don't want a child. But that's not the question you asked. People have more than one child because they have a lot of love to give and they want to give it to several children.

I wanted two and just had that..two. Then I had a tubal. If a woman can take care of more than that, and she and her husband/boyfriend want them, they should be able to have as many as they want. I stopped because I did not think I could spend as much time with 3 as I could with my 2. Sometimes I think I should have had one more, then both of mine will make a mess and I say...Bless you God for tubals lol.

Who the hell are you to tell someone how many children they have?
Not to mention. I am an only child. Chances are you are not. Try living as an only child for a year and realize how much you wish you had a sibling.
