Her ear is swollen on the end to where it seems like there is a walnut inside of her skin on the flap of her ear. No apparent bites or cuts. What could be the cause?

It doesn't seem sensitive to the touch, and it's hard. She's been at my inlaws for a week while we were away, and we just picked her up and noticed it.

Sounds like an aural haematoma - a build up of blood in the flap of the ear, can be caused by head shaking.
Take to the vets if you haven't already planned to. Aural haematomas need draining before they become infected. Also, no one can make diagnoses over the internet, so it might not even be this. Sounds exactly like it though.

ideally you need to get your dog to the vets for them to have a look at it. this could be numerous things, anything from an infection, to a tumor, burst blood vessels in the ear can also cause this, with the lump being a build up of blood. ideally though you need to get this animal to a vet ASAP just to be on the safe side.

It could be a cyst and you should have it checked at the vet, some cysts can be infected and needs to be drained. Call your vet ASAP or the infection can get much worse and the infection can travel to other body parts and even to the brain heart and lungs. Good Luck.

To me it sounds like some kind of abnormal growth. It could also be a tumor. I would take her to vet. The vet can diagnose it.

It sounds like an ear hematoma (a collection of blood and fluid). take her to the vet asap.
p.s. if it is a hematoma, it is easily treatable(they'll drain it with a syringe and place a drain for a few days.)

Is is sore, to her? When did you notice it? Is she itching it?
Get to the vet--this sounds like tumor or growth. ANd the sooner she gets meds, the sooner it will go away.

my pup had that, what it is is a pool of blood where they scratched open the vein in the ear, it probably feels hard, we left my pup alond and it went away, but if your worried you can take it to the vet, theyll charge 500 dollars to quilt its ear
