YES!!! definetly. the world needs prayer. a good thing to do is each night,(kinda make a schedule out of it) pray for someting different that's on your heart. like some of the people on this website. like children in uganda. even yourself. prayer is the biggest thing you can do to change the world. no matter how much money Oprah or Bono donate to poverty stricken countries, you will still be ahead with prayer.

I remember a Simpsons episode in which the Simpsons go to South America to look for Lisa's lost pen pal. When they get to the orphanage they ask the nuns if they've seen him. The nun says no, but they pray for his return everyday. Bart then asks if they've tried looking for him and the nun says that was going to be the next thing they were going to try.
Prayer never hurts, but physical action is what really needs to be done. We have people praying everyday and there are still people dying from starvation in our country and all over the world.
Good Luck with whatever you do! Perhaps your question alone will get people to start praying for you and your cause or for others in this world that are less fortunate.

You are actually wealthier than you thought! The wealth you have does not deplete no matter how much of it you give away.Your prayers will definitely change the world, but you deserve to see and feel the effect of your efforts...so if you join a prayer group, you will be able to hear the testimonials that come from people whose lives have been changed by the power of prayer from persons unknown. You are surely gifted to have such noble intentions. If you want to give materially, you do not need to possess anything...join a volunteer group and help your community any other way you can through social responsibility work.

you dont have to be wealthy to pray or help others! a kind word when sad can help others. a drive to the grocery store, a home cooked meal, there are different ways you can bless another! prayer is VERY powerful! be like the presistant widow in the bible, prayer does change circumstances as long as you believe that hes gonna do what he promises. but prayer with a doubting mind need not to think he will get anything he ask of God. YOU MUST HAVE THE FAITH!

I am not wealthy either, but I take in one homeless person every two years, I rehabilitate them, help them get a job, get them back on their feet and see them become self confident productive human beings again. I have done this for the past fifteen years and currently am helping number 8. How many human beings have you actually helped? What can you point to and say " I did that, that person is better off because of me". hmmmm? I challenge everyone, if you think it right to make a difference in your world, what exactly are you doing that shows you are doing something? If you aren't part of the solution...you are a part of the problem.

Anytime you pray for others you are blessing them, and in turn God will bless you.Pray for others, God ONLY knows what they need. For all you know one of those that you pray for has prayed for you. :)
We should pray for others and we should pray often. Amen to you wanting to change the world.
It gives me a warm feeling when I pray for someone because I know that God will bless them in a way that only He knows. I have a list of people that I pray for and I pray for them all everytime I pray. Sometimes I don't know what a certain person needs but I know that God knows.

Pray if you will, but volunteer at a shelter...become a Guardian ad Litem...work with abused children and/or adults....give to charity...help others. Give of yourself, even if you have little money. That will make a difference.

Praying is a kind of affirmation, it's putting your wishes into words and focusing your attention on them. If you do it often enough, it can reinforce certain paths of thinking in your brain. That's basic neuroscience.
What you choose to focus on, and the paths you choose to reinforce in your brain, is up to you. Choose wisely and you'll do your part to make the world a little better.

You go for it! There is power in prayer. It also costs nothing to do little random acts of kindness. God bless you.
