i gained most of the weight in my face and legs, and my stomach sticks out sometimes like i'm pregnant. (this is because i've gained no weight in my breasts and my collarbones still are visable.. as well as my shoulder bones)

i would like to get back down to about 120 pounds instead of 130/135. can i do this in a month since i gained so quickly? i will probably resort to crash dieting since i've lost my energy to go to the gym, my legs feel awfully heavy and my ankles/feet look swollen.

this is all a result of calorie restricting myself for two years and finally going on a binge-crazy 3 weeks.

Hmm well to gain 20 lbs in 2 weeks you would have to consume about 70,000 more calories than you burn. That is impossible. So you need to look and see what else is going on here. Maybe your body is holding a lot of extra water for some reason. I'm not sure about that as I'm not a doctor, and maybe you should go see one if you really gained weight that rapidly. I do know however that it's not possible to gain 20 lbs of actual body mass (i.e. fat, muscle) in 2-3 weeks. You cannot lose 20 pounds in a month in any sort of healthy fashion, much the same as you cannot really gain 20 pounds. Either way the only way to lose weight in a safe and healthy way is by eating a responsible diet and working out. That's all there is to it. Good luck!

I really cannot stress enough that you probably need to go to the doctor. That is an unusual amount of weight gain for 2 weeks and may suggest some underlying medical problems. You going on a diet may cause a medical problem to worsen.

Get it checked out. Could be thyroid or numerous other problems. One pound is roughly 3,200 calories. I have a hard time believing you ingested so many calories that you gained 20 pounds in 2 weeks.

I assume your diet stayed the same. If you tell you doctor that and that with no change in diet/exercise you gained 20 pounds in 2 weeks, he will listen to you!

GREETINGS, I hope you are still reading your mail answers to this. You need to see a doctor. That is an awful lot of weight to gain in 2 weeks and I think it's more than thyroid issues but they need to test that too. You mention your legs feel heavy and feet swollen, that's a circulation issue, has nothing to do with how much you eat. The abdomen and legs are definitely circulation issues, and your face weight is probably fluid too. You need to rule out vein problems, blood clot, female problems, and lymphedema. DO NOT crash diet. Do avoid salt and drink alot of water and see the doctor.

they need to run some tests, blood, if you haven't had a gyno exam you need to do that too, veinogram, possibly heart and kidney tests/ultrasounds too.

If you find out you have no answer after seeing the doctor or you have lymphedema as a diagnosis, write me back and I can help find a therapist to treat you.

a crash diet is the absolute worst thing you could do right now. the fact that the gained so much weight in such a short period of time means that your metabolic rate has slowed to a crawl. a crash diet will slow it down even more and when you return to normal eating patterns you will gain even more body fat.

haven't you learned anything from the 2 years of caloric restriction? if you had been eating a healthy diet you would have lost the weight in several months and kept it off.

Recommended calories for a woman are 1800-2000/day. Don't eat more than that and watch your fat and sodium levels! Cutting back on salty foods (frozen foods or other preserved food, also restaurant foods) will help you drop 5-10 lbs or more in water weight FAST. You'll be peeing like you haven't gone in a week for a few days. Then try counting calories by keeping a food journal, making healthier choices, and getting 30-60 min of aerobic exercise 4+ days of the week.

For your height your weight is good right now. But sudden weight gain is also not good.

Try doing Yoga 2-3 times a week. It will tone up your body especially tummy. If you are not interested in Yoga try doing some crunches at home.

The best thing for your tummy is to drink I glass of warm water with honey and lemon early morning. Try this for a week and you will see the difference yourself.

Drink green tea once per day.

Try these things for a week along with a healthy diet (NO JUNK) and you will see the difference yourself.
