Jehovah's Witnesses practice the Scriptural practice of disfellowshipping for unrepentance of such serious sins as fornication, drug abuse, stealing, and apostasy. Baptized Witnesses who join the military or publicly engage in worship with another religion are considered to have disassociated themselves from Jehovah's Witnesses.
Contrary to the misinformation of anti-Witnesses, it is quite possible to become inactive in the JW religion without becoming disfellowshipped. As long as one's lifestyle does not bring reproach upon the congregation, and as long as one does not advocate one's disagreements with the religion, the congregation has no interest in "investigating", exposing, and disfellowshipping an inactive former Jehovah's Witness.
For those who are disfellowshipped or disassociated, a primary goal is to shock the person into recognizing the serious of their wrong so that they rejoin the congregation in pure worship. Since the primary bonds that are broken involve friendship and spiritual fellowship, it is well understood that family bonds remain intact. Parents, siblings, and grown children of disfellowshipped and disassociated ones sometimes choose to limit what they may feel is discouraging or "bad association" but that is a personal decision and is not required by their religion.
Former Witnesses who are disfellowshipped or disassociated are typically treated in accord with the Scriptural pattern explained in these Scriptures:
(1 Corinthians 5:11-13) Quit mixing in company with anyone called a brother that is a fornicator or a greedy person or an idolater or a reviler or a drunkard or an extortioner, not even eating with such a man. ...Remove the wicked man from among yourselves.
(Titus 3:10) As for a man that promotes a sect, reject him after a first and a second admonition
(Romans 16:17) Now I exhort you, brothers, to keep your eye on those who cause divisions and occasions for stumbling contrary to the teaching that you have learned, and avoid them.
(2 Thessalonians 3:6) Now we are giving you orders, brothers, in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, to withdraw from every brother walking disorderly and not according to the tradition you received from us.
(2 Thessalonians 3:14) But if anyone is not obedient to our word through this letter, keep this one marked, stop associating with him, that he may become ashamed.
(2 John 10) If anyone comes to you and does not bring this teaching, never receive him into your homes or say a greeting to him.
(Matthew 18:17) If he does not listen to them, speak to the congregation. If he does not listen even to the congregation, let him be to you just as a man of the nations
Becoming baptized as a Jehovah's Witnesses is not a trivial step. At a minimum, a student must demonstrate months of regular meeting attendance and public ministry, then must himself express the desire to be baptized. The candidate then spends hours answering hundreds of bible questions wherein he expresses both a clear understanding and personal conviction regarding Jehovah's Witness teachings in at least three separate interviews with three different elders. The candidate must vocally agree to be baptized in front of hundreds or thousands of eyewitnesses, and must be publicly immersed in water. This is not a momentary emotional decision by an unreasoning child. Dedication as a Witness required hard work and determination at the time.

for various motives. fairly of being "kicked out" he would have opted to give up associating with them and 'disassociated' himself with the congregation on the 'Kingdom corridor' (not church, purely FYI). the various issues are: having an affair on an identical time as married, stalking, smoking, severe ingesting, public intoxication and not combating it, drugs, mendacity, stealing, gay intercourse, paying for and merchandising spouses, rather something that would desire to be seen to deliver reproach on Jehovah God's call, i.e., "inspect what he's doing and he's a Jehovah's Witness!!!" See? that's not what you elect to be doing. the component right it is that this, they (the Elders) do not generally purely 'kick you out' or disfellowship you chilly, they refer to you and locate out what the circumstances have been. the place you to blame, became into it on objective, unintended? Will it take place lower back? Are you rather sorry or will you nevertheless do it? in the experience that your not sorry, or the offense became into too severe, then you rather could be disfellowshipped the place you're nevertheless INVITED to delight come to the Kindgom corridor, although no person however the Elders would have the potential to speak to you till your re-instated! : ( it is to guard the congregation from being contaminated by potential of those wishing to do undesirable, on an identical time as maximum are rather sorry for their strikes. After some months of this, the elders comes to a decision whether you're spiritually reliable adequate to be reinstated.

I am a JW. Some people do get disfellowshipped out of the church, but that is only if they do something terribley wrong and are not repintent. If they do things like murder or cheat on their mate.........stuff like that. But they are able to come to meetings if they wish to repent. They are disfellowshipped in order to keep the rest of the congregation clean. If they show that they are faithful in coming to meetings and repentent...........then they can talk to the elders over the congregation and then they may be reinstated.

anyone who says negative things about disfellowshipping, has obviously got a bad attitude and have been disfellowshipped... probably because of their stubourness to see that what actions they are doing are not pleasing to God.
It is actually a very loving arangement. If you do something that requires attention from the elders.. i e fornication, drunkenness, and behavior contrary to your dedication as one of jehovahs witnesses you are not just kicked out .
I HAVE BEEN THERE!!!
the elders talk to you, comfort you and genuinly want to help you. They reason with you from the scriptures to help you understand why what you did is wrong in .. not their eyes, but gods eyes. they never give a personal opinion, it is always from the bible.
If you show repentance for your sin, and allow them to help you then you are not dissfellowshipped. I WAS NOT DISFELLOWSHIPPED.
obviously if you tell them to get stuffed and you'll do what you want, then dissfellowshipping is an option... but it is a loooong process. they dont just kick you out.
and truely, if you had that attitude then you really are not living up to your dedication, and why would it bother you to not be part of the congregation if you are not taking it seriously anyway???

Ok people this is what happens...
If you commit a Sin & are unrepentant about it then you are Disfellowshipped.
And there is a Body or committee of Elders that come to the final decision.
This is done to protect the Congregation from harmful influences. If you read the Bible you'd see that Paul counseled the Congregation to be careful of people in the Congregation spreading their own beliefs & not those of the Followers of Jesus.
This is only done if you are unrepentant or continue to commit the same Sin over & over....

Jehovah's witnesses strictly obey the Bible and the Christian congregation is no place for unrepentant practicers of serious sin. Disfellowshipping is bible based and serves as a protection for others in the congregation that chose to obey God as he requires. It also serves the purpose to keep the congregation clean before the eyes of God. It also hopefully will bring the unrepentant wrongdoer to his senses. Now, if someone has been disfellowshipped he can approach the elders in the congregation and write a letter of his intention to be reinstated. The elders will meet with him. He will attend meetings and after a period of time he will be reinstated. Someone who has been disfellowshipped can still pray to Jehovah. All is not lost.

Disfellowshipping is something that occurred in the first century Christian congregations and is for the purpose of keeping a congregation clean.
Paul spoke of a man who was separated from the congregation due to gross immorality- he was welcomed back after a "period of adjustment."
Disfellowshipping is not a punishment, but a protection. It occurs because of the attitude of the person who willfully commits a wrongdoing (say, adultery) as one of Jehovah's Witnesses.
It is a correction that is always done in a "spirit of mildness" because the objective is to keep the brother or sister, not push them away.
"Jehovah is near to those who are crushed in spirit."- King David was a faithful worshiper of Jehovah who had to be adjusted by God through the prophet Samuel for his willful sin with Bathsheba.
However, it did not ruin his relationship with God permanently-in fact, David still relied on Jehovah and had the utmost love for Him, even after being personally corrected by Almighty God.

JWs are a weird bunch.
So are Roman Catholics.
Joan of Arc was burned at the stake for being a heretic and then more than 500 years later another Pope comes along and declares Joan of Arc to be a Saint.
Galileo was also kicked out for the crime of inventing the telescope and teaching that the earth revolves around the sun instead of the sun revolving around the earth.
Next thing you know some Scientist will be ex-communicated from Disneyland for declaring that Pluto is not really a planet.

....Their theology is so shaky that they have to make sure that someone who becomes scriptural enlightened, does not communicate with those in the dark...It takes little effort to show that the WBTS is the spokesman of false prophecy....
It is fascinating that they will not even look at the links so wonderfully provided by ex..JW's by bringing some true light into their darkness....They label us apostate, without really knowing what that term means......You will see that they rarely answer in their own words.
You can be disfellowshipped if you sin and are repentant....I was...after a few years of being re-enstated...I asked to be formally removed as a JW...They disfellowshipped me again...In this area you will find JW's willing to lie to protect the reputation of the organization.

You are disfellowshipped if you sin and are not repentant. If you repent then your ok but if you have a defiant attitude then you threaten the spirtuality of others in the congregation. You are still allowed to come to meetings and listen but cannot participate until you repent and are counseled.
