I just got some info. on this today...
Just like pregnant women, children under 10 should avoid fish high in mercury (shark, swordfish, King Mackerel and Tile Fish).
Young children should eat no more that 2 meals per week of a variety of fish and shellfish that are lower in mercury (3 oz of fish or less per meal). Some of the most commonly eaten fish that are low in mercury are shrimp, canned LIGHT tuna, salmon, polock, and catfish. White albacore tuna is higher in mercury, therefore, young children should eat no more tha one serving of white albacore tuna per week.
I was wondering about this myself! Hope this helps.

I would not give tuna to children due to the high mercury content. Mercury is linked to autism. I don't take any chances even though I used to love tuna! Just my 2 cents for what it is worth :) Don't worry though if you give it once in awhile I am sure it can't hurt.

A little tuna now and then is fine. YOu just don't want to give her tuna everyday.
