I think it depends on how well he's slept at night? If he had a good sleep and hasnt been too active in the morning then creche is a good opportunity to begin developing social skills ,communication and learning to play. It will help when he begins pre-school/nusery as it gets him into a routine.
However, if you feel he benefit more from sleep for his health then see if you can rearrange and go to toddler groups in a morning instead?

sleep. try a morning creche or group. Nothing worse than having to wake a child to go out. it makes for a tough day. My son sleeps 12 to 13 hours at night straight through and still has anything from 1 and a 1/2 to 3 hours sleep in the day. He is only 17 months old, but i can see that he will be the same as his sister and she's 14. Still no change in her sleeping habits yet!!

All kids are different, but it's probably a good idea to allow at least 1 1/2 to 2 hours of sleep for a two-year-old. This is more important than play. However, if you think creche is important for him too, you can put him to sleep sooner and then he can get both.

I surely have a three 12 months outdated and a 2 12 months outdated. They nap any the place from 2-3 hours an afternoon. They bypass to mattress around 8:30 and awaken at 6:30-7am. you ought to attempt decreasing nap time a minimum of an hour. 4 hours is a sprint long to be taking a snooze.

As a former nanny, my advice would be; let him sleep if he wants to. A tired, grumpy child isn't going to enjoy a visit to a creche anyway, try taking him to another group, preferably in the morning when he's fresh and receptive.

I think you should leave him to sleep, 2 is really still a baby, why carn't we let babies be babies, we are all in such a hurry for them to grow up. Let him go to the creche in the mornings, whats the point in sending him there if hes only going to sleep the whole time?

A 2-year old probably still needs to recharge his batteries with a nap after lunch. They are generally ready to do without this by 3 years of age.
In Nursery Schools children usually have a rest period in the early afternoon.
