So glad you asked, I got everything you need to know about them in my book.

Pugs
Attitude toward other dogs: Excellent (friendly)
Quetness: Very good
Not Destructive: Very good
Protective: Poor (Not protective)
Not likely to stray: Very Good
Good with kids: Excellent!!

Original Purpose: Lap Dog
Life Span: 12-15 years

Medical Problems (health issues)
Breathing problems, hip malformation, dyslepsia, kneecap dislocation, lack of blood supply resulting in bone death, spinal deformaty, eye problems, cataracts, vulnerablility to injury, skin tumors, and inward turning eye lids.

This sums up some of the major stuff, if you still want a pug I know some places to get one. If you don't want a pug I'll find a breed for you that suits your lifestyle. I'll be happy to help with training and then some. :) contact me anytime

They habe a lot of medical issues and those are:

Since they have flat snouts they can't breathe as well as dogs with a snout or whatever it's called that is poking out. So therefore they can't really go outside that much, like around a lot of dirt but they can go on the streets to get excercise.

They don't have as good bone structure as other dogs either, but neither do chihuahuas, so they wouldn't really be able to walk that far.

Also, since their eyes are so buggy, their eye lids don't go over the eye all the way so they end up getting a scar on the eye sometimes so you have to put ointment on it to prevent it and so stop it.

They are also really cuddley so it is all worth while, and they love to wear clothes.!.!.!.!.

Pugs act like they are stubborn and they are a little bit but they are very sensitivetoo, so use a soft approach to training. They have a hard time in the heat, so make sure they stay in the air conditioning. They are very smart and funny and are easily motivated with food treats when you are training them. Have fun, they are great dogs. p.s. they are not very good guard dogs, they love everybody.

They're dumber than a box of rocks and have lots of health problems. I have a friend who had spent more than $12,000 on health care (surgeries) before her pug was 10.
Don't buy a puppy at a pet store; find a reputable breeder.

Short nose dogs over heat very easily. They are also very sensitive to cold weather. Pugs need to be inside dogs, and need a lot of attention. You also have to be careful of their eyes. Other than that, they are the same as other little dogs.

dont let them get too fat otherwise, they can get some serious health issues... pugs get fat easily so you must watch what they eat! this happened to my friends pugs. They now cant breathe properly.
