My husband and I have been together for a long time. I notice than when we see people that he knows that I don't he never introduces me. I have mentioned it before, and he just says he wasn't raised with good manners. I am really getting sick of it, because it is so rude. I always introduce him to people, so I am not sure what his problem is. I must add that I am an attractive person inside and out. All of his friends tell him how "hot" I am. Should I be upset or am I over reacting?

I agree, not being raised properly is no excuse! I don't believe it has anything to do with your looks, because he wouldn't have married you. If you have already told him how you feel, than he is disregarding your feelings. You may hate to do it, but I wouldn't introduce him to people either. Maybe he will get the hint. Your not over reacting at all!

Not being "raised with good manners" is no excuse for not utilizing them as an adult. You are absolutely not overreacting. He benefits from your good manners on a regular basis and you deserve reciprocation.

I would refuse to accompany him on the grounds that he is an embarrassment, at least until he learns to evolve a bit.

Sounds extreme, but if nothing else has motivated him up to this point...

~sighs~

I would be very unhappy with this, even if his friends thought I was as ugly as the proverbial mud fence! If your husband doesn't introduce you to someone (it's just plain good manners), step up with your hand extended and introduce yourself, with a comment about "John always forgets that he's married" and a smile. Pretty soon he'll get tired of THAT, and start introducing you :-)

Every time it happens, open up with a HUGE smile and, "Well, since my husband doesn't have any manners, I'll introduce myself." If you do this enough times, he may get embarrassed enough to behave himself. No one is beyond learning good manners!

Being raised without manners is no excuse, Is he no longer capable of learning any? I suppose you could refrain from introducing him to your friends, but that would also be rude, I say as the other person, just step up and say I'm -----'s wife ------ pleased to meet you.

I wouldn't be too upset - he probably just forgets. For some men things like that aren't important or maybe he thinks you can speak for yourself. If it really bothers you, just say 'so are you going to introduce us?'. If you do that every time he'll eventually remember.

If it's not rude, it is thoughtless. The next time it happens introduce yourself saying something like " My husband has forgot his manners, I'm Jane his wife".

It's always rude for a person to not introduce whomever theyre with when meeting another person. It doesnt sound as if he's ashamed of your looks, it sounds like he needs training in manners, guess you gotta pick up where his parents left off........

Then tell him to learn some manners and introduce you.

Or start introducing yourself since he doesn't have the manners for it.

It is a little rude, but take control. Introduce yourself and it will make him look like the thoughtless person he is. It is possible that he can't remember thier name and didn't want to be embarrased.
