Chew on some sugarless gum. This will help keep you from grazing between meals as you'll have something already in your mouth.

You can also try breaking your 3 larger meals into 5 smaller ones this way you can eat every few hours. This is recommend as it will help keep your metabolism up as well.

Snacking on veggies will also help keep you fuller longer due to their high fiber content.

It is recommended that you snack between meals. It keeps your metabolism going, keeps your blood sugars on an even keel and it can be nice. If you are worried about it just have some fruit or a yogurt or a small piece of dark chocolate.
If you want to avoid temptation of things you may deem as bad dont replace it when its gone and buy different stuff.

the first thought I have there is - if you're finding it hard in the house, and you can, then leave the house. Go for a walk or something.

stick to fruit - veg snax if you must snack. Water is great - just drink more. celery is a good snack for burning calories. Whatever you do - find something you can stick to. it should be something you can do forever, not just for a short while - otherwise you'll put it all straight back on when you're done.

technically you should be having at least 2 snacks over the course of the day. foods that disrupt insulin levels the least are optimum for snacking this would be either protein based foods (cottage cheese, beef jerky, etc) , nuts/seeds or veggies

Padlock the cupboards and fridge and give your mum the key to hide.
