Make sure you keep your dog up to date with his worming tablets and vaccinations.

As long as you do that I personally wouldn't be too worried about it. Your dog and your child seem to have hit it off really well which is definitely a good thing.

As revolting as it looks, I doubt it will do your son any harm. I don't doubt for one minute your son will not be a stranger to dirt and grime soon if he isn't that way already.

If you want to stop the dog from licking your son, I'd suggest distracting your dog when he does it. As soon as the dog starts to lick your son's face, call him over and give him something more interesting to do (does the dog have a favourite toy?).

It is not OK to have him like your child's face.......believe me a dogs mouth is not clean!!! I do dental cleanings on dogs (work for a vet) ! Just like said before keep up on your deworming and not every dewormer takes care of every parasite....I am thinking of things like Giardia and Coccidia. Also (it was said before) distracted him, give him something "better" to do then licking. I know it sounds cheesy but Cesar Millan has some good suggestions.
Once again ....... your dogs mouth is not clean. You can find some pics at the link below

It is normal to do it..BUT if you dont want him to do it, everytie he does it say "BAH" with a firm voice, this is a command they know automatically as no. You have to be consistant, everyone he licks has to say it. Eventually he will get it! Took my parents dogs less than a week to stop their bahaviours with this simple command. Good Luck!

My dog was licking his balls the other day. My mate said " I wish I could do that" I replied "Give him a bone and he'll let you".
