It's a win-win situation for them. Firstly, in their drunken minds they are as hard as anyone; they've seen Bruce Lee do the moves, they've seen Amir Khan knocking people out and they're thinking well if THEY can do it....So they see you, they know your rep and it's their chance for a shot at the title - oh the glory if they beat you! Secondly, if they lose, look who they were fighting, they were not expected to win but at least they stood, and they lost because they were drunk, you wouldn't have got off so lightly if they were sober etc etc etc. If they weren't so insecure then they wouldn't have to keep proving themselves.
Good luck with your career, hope to see you on UFC some day.

Judomofo has summed this up perfectly.

As someone who wants to be a mma fighter that is where your concentration should be. Anyone can get into a street fight and even if you are not trained if you are sober you can usually beat the opponent away.
Striking in the street should be a last resort, it is so easy to kill someone. I have seen it done, one clean punch knocked the guy out and he hit his head on the pavement - DEAD.

As a fighter you seem to have a bad attitude, there is always someone out there who is better than you. If you walk around thinking you are "the man" it's gonna really hurt when you get taken apart.
There is no skill and should be no joy in beating up a drunk person, for a trained person it's like shooting fish in a barrel.

You need to grow up, step back and take a look at what you really want. If it is the big I am and a street reputation that you want keep going as you are enjoy it while you can - someone will come along and beat you or take you by surprise with a knife etc or even worse you will seriously injure someone.
If you really want to be a pro fighter knuckle down train hard and stay out of trouble. Train to fight people who are the best and have trained like you, then it becomes a true challenge.

It lowers you to them each fight you have with a drunkard.
What value to winning a fight you are sure to win?
This is why the true test is personal, and only the truly skilled and gifted understand. Fighting is an animals, reasoning is as humans.
Fighting with and for a reason is human, fighting for fighting is animal.
MMA is skillled sports folks in their sport, what you speak of is not MMA or the true value of MMA. Don't confuse gifted skilled fighters as dummys willing to give up all at a local bar.

Hey,
If you want to download Street Fighter 2 you can download it here for free: http://bitly.com/1oh9X4E

The game was made even more thrilling since they improved the graphics and gameplay upon adding new fighting techniques and scenarios.
It's my favourite game.

Hmmm.

I hate to be the as*hole, but the way I see it. Well there are a few things going on here.

1. You are lying (about the Semi Pro MMA, unless you have like one or two fights and have been training for less than a year).

2. You are young, full of piss and vinegar, and go to the wrong clubs.

Well I could keep going but truthfully, why bother fighting a drunk dude? If it actually comes to blows (easily avoidable) why wouldn't you just choke them out?

See as a former pro fighter, who bounced with current Pro fighters, we rarely needed to get physical and when we did we didn't risk injury to ourselves by mixing it up. We just choked them out and was done.

Keep messing around with Drunk idiots and you will end up like Lee Murray (Pro MMA fighter) and get stabbed, arrested or worst.

If you did actually hurt someone, if you are a semi pro MMA fighter, you have substantial risk of being prosecuted for assualt rather than self defense. Especially if you screw up and really injure someone.

You get your chance to mix it up with people in the ring or the cage, why bother wanting anyone else fight you?

Seriously, I train fighters, am a fighter (or was pre injury) and I don't know anyone with the attitude that they need to go out on the streets looking for trouble, or even having to protect their own ego by letting a drunk fool egg you into a street fight.

Don't get me wrong, I had my time when I was young when I brawled, and got crazy. I had my time when I took out my frustrations on drunk people while working at a bar. None of that was right, it was just being young dumb, and full of.... well you know.

However, the risks way outweigh the benefits, and your ego/pride isn't worth going to jail, or getting seriously hurt. Lee Murray had his career ended by being stabbed. And taking on drunk dudes and their potential friends really isn't smart, or remotely necessary.

Part of which makes me think that in reality you are actually totally full of crap, are not a semi pro fighter, and do not get in street fights against drunk dudes on a regular basis.

And if you do, it is because you are also drunk, and not thinking of all the things that could happen.

Two weeks out from a fight you could break your hand on some dude's skull and pretty much ruin a pay day. (or a shot at something bigger if the right person is watching).

Just use your head kid, otherwise one day you might the one to learn when the other guy lands a lucky shot, or his buddy sucker punches you from behind, or a whole lot worst. Not to mention lose your chance to turn pro and be affiliated with any kind of athletic commission.

If I was your coach I would beat the hell out of you for 3 weeks for that kind of foolishness.

But I am not, so my advice is to keep it in the ring. If you really are a MMA fighter, than you know the sport has a bad enough rap without someone coming on the internet talking about beating up drunk people, claiming to be a MMA fighter. That kind of crap just perpetuates an untrue stereotype about MMA fighters being cocky meatheads.

I dont think they realize who they are fighting with, they are drunk, it makes you do dumb stuff that you regret the next morning or makes you act like a tough guy

btw how can you be a semi pro? last time i looked it was called amature

you probably wear it "on your sleeve" and talk big which is almost an invitation for chuckleheads. Remember, it takes two to tango so you are probably doing something repeatedly to encourage the fights.Try humility. If it comes to violence you have already lost. A warrior's greatest asset is his spirit and mind, not his body. You have to out think your opponent, not just beat his brains in.

because dude the world is full of idiots who want to make a name for themselves-don't lower yourself to their standards-save it for the trophies. most of the time these non-entities couldn't punch their way out of a used toilet tissue and if you did give one of them a dig then i wager their next stop is the local precinct-trust me i get it all the time. you have to rise over it. good luck with the career.
