Yes. That doesn't mean we are ignorant of science if we haven't. All the natural history museums and TV shows in the world have failed to prove evolution.
We go into a natural history museum, and do you know what we see? The bones of animals that died and were buried in the Flood. No proof here that they had offspring or parents different than themselves. Also, I don't see any dates engraved on the bones that say "I died 65 million years ago." These are just bones that were found in sedimentary rock that was layered due to hydrologic sorting from the Flood, not due to the rocks being "different ages".
When I read a National Geographic, I see a lot of fabrication. Lots of highly detailed sculptures of so-called "ape-men" based on a few fragmentary pieces of skull bones. In fact, from these little fragments, they have even concocted how this so-called "ancestor" lived, what he looked like, and how his society was formed. It's a lot of imagination and very little real science. They find a few bird skeletons, two of which turn out to be fakes, and the other is just an unusual perching bird. But they plaster a big picture on the cover of a dino-bird cross, brightly colored feathers and all, (when there is no actual evidence of ancestry from dinosaurs, since these features are already found in modern birds) boldy stating, "WE'VE FOUND THE MISSING LINK BETWEEN DINOSAURS AND BIRDS!!" - BALONEY!!!
We see in the NG also detailed "family trees" of human ancestry (which, strangely, keep changing), while intellectually honest evolutionists who are top in their field will tell you that "all those 'trees' are just a bunch of nonsense". The data is only at the tips and nodes of the branches; everything else is pure conjecture.
The NG is guilty of pawning off imagination as "science" and calling anyone who calls them on the carpet as "unscientific idiots".
TV shows like Discovery Channel and Animal planet are also guilty of the same intellectual dishonesty as National Geographic. They always say "miiiiiiillllliiiiiioooons of yeeeeeeears ago..." when they weren't even there. They don't "know" anything. It is a secular religious belief, and it has nothing to do with real science.
Whenever you hear the phrase, "miiiiillllliiiiiioooons of yeeeeeaaaars ago..." you should translate "once upon a time...." It means a fairy tale is coming up next.

I grew up reading National Geographic. Are you saying that is all there needs to be to satisy you?

To know that the world will probably be destroyed by the sun going supernova? You will die and lay in a grave? You like that stuff? Do you gain comfort in your spirit reading about the South American tribes in the Amazon? It this all there is?

lol

When you grow more spiritually, you may want to know more about the universe that isn't photographed. It's there for those God chooses to show.

Yes, all of the time. I have loved documentaries and nature shows since I as long as I can remember, and of course, I watch the Science Channel and the Discover Channel all of the time.

Why do most atheists seem to assume that people who believe differently than them are uneducated or uninformed?

Yes, watch them all the time. Some of the best comedy on TV when the history channel does things about the Bible.

I watch discovery and animal planet all the time and I'm Christian. So what is the point?

2007-06-25 09:25:17 · answer #8 · answered by Brief Boxer 3 · 2 0

Done all the above. Makes my faith even stronger. But did you know there are many Christians involved in archaeology, historical documentation, discovery type of programs, work in zoos, works in science, work in libraries, works in museums, etc and guess what it makes there faith even stronger. God existence is proven over and over most athetist fail to see it that why they fail to believe in God of any kind.

I enjoy all the above. I've had a subscription to National Geographic all my life...which my Christian parents started me reading when I was small.

I know you think I'm ignorant to be a Christian. I can live with that.

Have a nice day.
