Nor do most Christians, this is a very modern thing. Coming in with the Johnny come lately denominations such as the Fundamentalists, Baptists, Evangelicals, Pentecostals, and many independents.
Its a group of picked out scriptures that are crammed together to sort of make the idea of the rapture occurrence. By even among Christians its hotly debated.
Thus far there where 12 dates I know of set by the shaker religions (those included above) that have come and gone. Each supposing to be the date of the rapture.

I went to churches that believed in the Rapture. The verses I read that were said to be about the rapture seemed to be talking only about the second coming to me.
I have studied about other faiths a bit and I have never run into one that had a equivalent to this Rapture.

Well, I'm sorry to say it comes from Judaism. However, Jews tend to focus on the positives in the Bible rather than the negatives. Totally the opposite of Christians. They seem to thrive on blood, death, pain and suffering, afterlife, etc.
