Popular songs from early 70s would be "Don't it Make my Brown Eyes Blue" by Crystal Gayle, or Delta Dawn - not sure who that's by. What is the play about, and do you sing high notes or a little lower?

I would do "Hello Heartache, Goodbye Love" by Peggy March, this was a very popular song by a very popular artist in the 1960's.
If you don't like this song she has many more that you can choose from.
If the artist isn't your type try Lesley Gore, Jackie DeShannon, Shelley Fabares or Petula Clark. Good luck...

If you have a good range and want to show it off, try "Both Sides Now" by Joni Mitchell.
