Many are not against the use of stem cells in embryonic fluid, umbilical cords, or placentas, but they are against the use of stem cells in embryos. It is the use of a potential life (an embryo) that most of the conservative Christians have a problem with. Most of the problem also have to do with the fact that the stem cells are taken when the cluster of cells hasn't even reached cleavage yet. They are not truly embryos. It is a misnomer. People react to the wrong information they are given without even knowing what they are saying.

We're not. We're actually the ones who're pushing scientists to use these organs. I know of absolutely no Christian who opposes stem cells from ambilical cords, plecentas, etc, so I'm curious where you got this information.
As an aside, the use of aborted fetuses for scientific purposes is a bit of side business, so I wouldn't be surprised if folks like Planned Parenthood and other abortion providers deliberately tried to spread misinformation about using harmless organs over aborted children.

Stem cell research is fine, as long as it doesn't involve the taking of a life. However, when the scientists petition legislators to allow stem cell research, they also try to include the use of aborted fetuses. They also collude with the pro-choice lobbyists to raise the ban on partial-birth abortion. This way, they can harvest stem cells from still-living babies, before they are killed in the birth canal.
The envelope is always being pushed. If they can get stem-cell researched approved on a fetus, there will be no ethical barrier to farming babies for this purpose. It is because people can see the possibility of this happening that they are reluctant to approve stem-cell research on any level. We shouldn't kid ourselves into thinking that science maintains the highest ethical standards. Pharmaceutical companies are in it for the money, and with billions of dollars at stake, getting ahead of the competition often means resorting to unscrupulous, unethical, and sometimes criminal behavior. How much money can a research scientist for Merck earn? It isn't just money for them, either. They get to be famous, too. There is a huge incentive to cut corners. Stem cell research is possible using umbilical cords, amniotic fluid, etc, but scientists know that the most efficient research can be done using the cells from living source itself.

I don't know any Christians who are against that....most of us are against it when an abortion takes place..even then I am not against it if the abortion has taken place and the baby is already passed..then I guess why not use the fluids and placenta and the umbilical cords..I wish that little innocent babies didn't have to die for that to happen sometimes. I know that I really want to bank my cord blood when my baby is born, but I can't afford it and I cannot donate it because I was diagnosed with Hep C...even though I have been healed and my liver panels are fine and they have retested me for it and it is negative (thank you god!!) because I tested positive previously I am out...(for the record i was a security guard and a thief's nose got broken in the process and he bleed all over me..I had just had my nails done and my nail beds were raw and bleeding...it was a freak a thing)..So if anyone wants to pay for it for me I will be happy to accept the blessing!!!!! =) never hurts to ask right.

Christians are only opposed to embryonic stem cell research, which IS a potential HUMAN being. Adult stem cells have proven to be much more effective than embryonic stem cells but for some reason these people just will not admit to that.Use of embryos is just truthfully not necessary.
mutterhals, just because I don't use the foul language that you do, doesn't mean that I don't use big words. As a matter of fact, I would wager that I use more of them than you do. That goes for most of the other Christians on here also.

Christians are not against using adult stem cells, embryonic fluid, umbilical cords or placentas. It is the creating of human embryos to destroy them that Christians are against. Propaganda to convince the masses that Christians are the real problem is the issue. Christians believe that destroying life...human life is wrong. That is why they do not believe in abortion. Aborting a human fetus IS killing a human being. A fetus IS a baby.

I'm a Christian, and the only kind of stem cell research I'm against is embryonic stem cell research. People just assume that all Christians are against ALL kinds of stem cell research. It's not true.

They are a voting bloc for the Republican Party, they are taught and indoctrinated that they are better than everybody else and that they are a persecuted minority and that they and they alone have the truth, so when their pastors lie to them, they believe everything they say. Hopefully a lot of them will be getting Alzheimers Disease or Parkinsons Disease. Maybe they will learn something about the difference between reality and fantasy delusion faith. Maybe not. At least they will suffer for their stupidity.

Right. Only some Christians. (Some non-Christians are dumb, too.) Why they think the trash is a better place than the lab, I do not know.
Some people would like everything to be cut and dried. "This is not a human, but this --right now-- is one. God and nature don't work that way, but they want certainty.

As far as I know most Christians are for this type of stem cell research. We are just not for the type that takes the life of a child
