Socks is a name that is way over used for a cat who has white paws. I think Salem is cute-like the cat on Sabrina the Teenage Witch. I also like Spade (like the poker card) and Oreo could be cute!

Clucktrentis has a good idea! That's what I did when naming my cat ... I just waited for the perfect name to pop into my head, and it did!

The name was Praxis! And before you laugh, I know it's unusual, to say the least :-D

It's a weird name, but everyone who knows her says it suits her so well, because she is a completely weird cat, lol.

And it is easy to call.

So if you just play with your cat for a while and just let your mind wander, a name might come into your mind ... it might be one of the great names here (there are some fantastic names suggested), or it might be totally new ... but it's worth a try!

Good luck :-)

I had the same problem with my cat. I had to have my cat put down , he was 17 years old and I loved him to bits. I wanted a new name, not the old name, nothing was coming so I asked my friend who suggested that I ask the cat what he wanted to be called!!!

I thought it was a little bizarre but was willling to give it a try, I got quiet with him on my lap, pictured him in my mind and asked him with my heart what he wanted to be called....right a way I got the name ....Felix ..... it's perfect.

Audrey. Your description puts a famous picture of Audrey Hepburn in my mind. The picture is of Audrey in an elegant black formal dress with white gloves.

I like to choose names that describe my pets in other languages. Our orange cat was named Miel for the spanish word for honey. Noir is black in french so you could call her Noira. I know its made up but, its original
