2 peter.3:3 Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts,
3:4 And saying, Where is the promise of his coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue * as they were from the beginning of the creation.
3:5 For this they willingly are ignorant of, that by the word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of the water and in the water:
They are willingly ignorant...so dont worry about them.

God wants people to go to Him on their own free will. Billions of people have opened up their hearts to the love of Christ, however many have not. Modern writers and scholars find lots of money in controversy, so they will make a big scene about Christian beliefs to get attention and dollars. So how do we deal with scoffers? We can only pray for their salvation and hope that one day they will accept Christ. Why anyone would want to reject the good news of Christ is beyond me. People gain nothing in the long run for denying Christ, and gain everything in eternity for accepting Him.
Peace be with you.

Only 2 billion? The world population is over 6 billion, that means less than 1/3 of the world's population is Christian (including such "non-Christian" groups as Catholics, Mormons, Jehovah's Witnesses, etc. (seen this in questions millions of times).
Personally, I agree with many of those writers. Jesus taught a set of morals, Paul made a religion out of him.

Pray for them and do no take what they say to heart.
Paul said in 2 Thessalonians that in the end there would be scoffers, and that there would be a great apostasy. Peter also said the same thing. It's just something that comes with the end.

Well, I think we've all been scoffed for our beliefs. I'm not Christian but I've had my fair share of scoffers. Let me tell you how I deal with them. I open my mind, shrug my shoulders, and realize that the ONLY person I have control over is me. I cannot force others to my views or make them understand my point of view. They're either open minded and open to my ideas - or not. They're not worth wasting anger, frustration, or hate on. So I let it go. As long as I'm right with my deities - that's what matters.
So maybe you should worry about YOUR relationship with God and stop worrying so much about everyone else.

Last days? In 1962 about the time I stated relating to the world outside my home, I found the non-believers far more numerous than the believers. That was forty five years ago These days I meet more believers then ever before. Do you suppose that we see what we focus on and one of us is focusing on that which is in Gods hands, not ours?

I can't speak for all scoffers, but can you just, um, ignore me, and not try to sway me into your way of thinking. I have switched from christianity to atheism after a long period of thought. And, peanut, I don't hate god. You can't hate what you don't believe in. And I don't care how many people believe in god, it doesn't make it true!

Humanity is evolving. Thoughts evolve. Ideas evolve. And the myths and fables that served humanity well 2000 years ago are now outmoded. If there is a God, he understands this.

It's simple. I let them scoff. Their scoffing doesn't affect my beliefs one iota. My being sarcastic back to them will certainly not help matters, but will only reinforce the prejudices that they may already have against persons of belief. I try to answer their questions in a calm manner, and if they don't respond to that, then it's time to move on.
