Yes I do. Partially because they have such high protein and low fat. Great for your health.

Welcome to the North! We do have biscuits and gravy here in the northeast, available at most restaurants. By sweet tea, you may mean what we call "iced tea"? That is served seasonally here, it won't be available in restaurants in the winter months.
As for beef jerky, I do like it, but not the nasty packaged stuff they sell in convenience stores. I buy it homemade at the native American store at the reservation near here. I also enjoy jerky made by friends. I've never tried deer jerky and I don't really want to.
PS We make our stuffing (dressing, as in "turkey and") with white bread, not cornbread, too.

I don't like jerky cuz I'm a vegetarian. The answer to your other question- the U.S is very different in different areas. I live in northern U.S and biscuits and gravy and sweet tea is not something served around here. However, last week I was in Branson, Missouri and that was served in almost every restaurant.

Things are called different things depending upon where you go. We do have beef jerky in Chicago, It is called a "Slim Jim". We also have biscuits and gravy, I think you should have gone to a "soul food" restaurant for that , or a diner. Sweet tea is merely "iced tea with sugar" here in the North.

I love a good beef jerky. However, I'm spoiled, because a good friend of mine who is now dead used to homemake the BEST jerky I've ever had. WAY better than the stuff you get in the stores. Too bad I can't find any that good commercially.
I live in Southern California.

No, I do not like beef jerky, I LOVE it!!!!
I am born and raised San Diego-an. Beef jerky is such a great snack we take on plane rides, car rides, etc. I wish it wasn't so expensive, but I still buy it anyways.
I saw a billboard for alien jerky on our way back from Vegas two nights ago, what is up with that? I suppose I am open to any form of jerky, I like buffaloe jerky, for example, but alien jerky,,,,,lol,,,,,I think that sign turns people off.
I make my own biscuits and gravy, my son wont eat restaurant ones, only mine. Sweet tea is "normal tea" for us. Me nor my son will drink tea without tons of sugar in it.
I think you are just normal but you are asking a lot out of the restaurants you go to. They make generic food, not like your hometown, maybe, but a lot of other people skip eating out to make food that they like to eat on their own, no matter where they live.....

Oh my, I know what you mean! I went somewhere and asked if they had Yorkshire pudding and they said "No, you're in AMERICA now"... my wife didn't take that too well. She's Japanese and she doesn't take too kindly to people being treated like immigrants, so she told him to sod off and asked for the manager and threw a scene there.. quite embarrassing, I'm afraid. But we got a free meal! They actually tried to make what I was requesting, it was actually rather funny since it was long enough ago, ha ha, wow.. I do go on, don't I? And I do like beef jerky, thank you for asking. :-)

Beef jerky is one of my favorite snacks! It is actually what I craved during my first pregnancy too. My husband would buy me a two pound bag from the bar down the street at the beginning of each week! Still love it, just not quite that much anymore.

i like it, but the thought of what it is grosses me out. I live in Michigan, (right next to Wisconsin) and we sell jerky, but not at restaurants. You can find it at any gas station or grocery store.
Chicago (and everyone) knows about biscuits & gravy too, the waitress was probably just deaf or stupid.

i live in texas, i like beef jerky and deer jerky. i've had deer jerky up north too, it's popular there. if you're looking for deep south cooking, good luck. best bet is a soul food restaurant, they have red beans, greens and cracklins and all that other gut buster food.
cracker barrel is the closest i've seen to authentic deep south cooking in a chain restaurant.

Hey from Texas. I love beef jerky but it's really high in cholesterol so I can't eat it any more--boo-hoo. Eat some for me. Sweet tea is hard to find, try asking for a Dr. Pepper up in Iowa, they look at you like you lost your mind.
