I read the Bible ever day to learn more through it. I can read the same chapter 5 times and each time see something I didn't notice before. The Bible is a bottomless treasure chest for me. I believe the Bible to be the Word of God and I love the Lord so that is why I read. ;)

I read it to experience the word of God. Jesus Christ is the word of God made flesh so reading the bible is another way to get closer to our savior. The bible is not entirely a historical document so treating it as such would be inappropriate. With that in mind it has become easier to read and more encouraging each time.
Just my thoughts. Nice question!

To find peace of mind, meditate, relax.
To find guidance in how to live a good life.
To learn what Jesus would do in a situation like mine.
To be a better person.

Franciscans pledge to live the Gospel life. In order to do so you have to read them and apply them to today.
