1 Corinthians 11:26 says:

For as often as ye eat this bread, and drink this cup, ye do shew the Lord's death TILL HE COME

IF the Lord returned in 1914, shouldn't the Supper be stopped?
___

Matthew 24:24-27,30 says:

For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect. Behold, I have told you before.Wherefore if they shall say unto you, Behold, he is in the desert; go not forth: behold, he is in the secret chambers; BELIEVE IT NOT. For as the lightning cometh out of the east, and shineth even unto the west; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be......they shall SEE the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.

If the bible clearly says His coming is visible, and not to believe anyone who tells you otherwise... why do you believe the Watchtower is correct that He returned in 1914? Especially given their many mistakes in the past?

1 - Now that the Watchtower Society has apparently wriggled out of the 1914 dilemma by saying Jesus is going to come a third time (still future) to separate the sheep from the goats, they should be answering this Q by saying the third coming will be when his supper stops being commemorated.

2 - Because the 1914 return has always been explained as a "presence" and invisible, they feel that deals with the problem. Of course, it doesn't, but they don't see it that way. They are now dismissive of the invisible 1914 event, saying it was symbolic, really, nothing much more than that. A new generation of JW converts is now in place - those who never studied all the Russell and Rutherford literature - such ones will wonder what on earth you are going on about. Poor souls. They are so unaware of so many things.

Dear Anna,

That is an excellent point! You received several good answers.

I haven't researched to see how much time elapsed between Jesus' crucifixion and the time that the Jews stopped sacrificing a Passover lamb. I do not think it was 103 years!

I would like to suggest a correction in choice of words in your last sentence. While the Watchtower and it witnesses repeatedly use the word "mistake" in the discussion of the failed prophecies for Armageddon, God makes it very clear in Deuteronomy 18:20-22 that He is saying loudly and clearly when an event is foretold and it does not happen "These are FALSE prophets. Do not listen to them!"

God made it clear when Cain and Abel offered sacrifices that Abel's was acceptable. God showed that the Messianic line would descend through Jacob, not Essau. God showed that Elijah's sacrifice on Mount Carmel was acceptable but that the sacrifice offered by the 450 + 400 was not. God has been distinguishing between acceptable and unacceptable sacrifices and worship from the beginning of time.

I would also like to share with you a verse I came across today when I was looking at Time With God, The New Testament For Busy People to find information for a friend regarding remarriage. I had made some notes on the subject years ago and I knew my notes were in that Bible.

My notes were stuck between 1 Corinthians 10:23-11:22. I had underlined 11:19 - (It is necessary to have differences among you so that it may be clear which of you really have God's approval.) That happens to be the New Century Version and it would be interesting to check out other versions as well.

It until the period of the end times finish if you read Matthew 24:7 after his presence began nation will rise against nation and kingdom against kingdom, and there will be food shortages and earthquakes in one place after another, etc etc and this happened and happening already (CNN).
in Matthew 14 explain that after the preaching of the gospel that Jesus commad his followers to do, then is when the Armageddon (The unknow date) and all the people that are "brother of Jesus" or sons of God are already in heaven then is when that will stop, if you notice in Revelation 7 says that as soon as all the people that will rule with Jesus in Heaven (144K) are sealed then is when the Armageddon will begin and will stop the lord supper, cause they are as the first apostles the one that our lord Jesus invited to the dinner.

By the way JWS dedicated the equivalent of 150 thousand years of preaching only the last year and more than 1 billion of magazines and literature to spread that the only solution to the problem of this society is Jesus as the annoited king of Jehovah (God´s kingdom) cause that was the message that Jesus command to spread.

by the way one thing is a mistake and another thing is a lie you can say something wrong but that doesn´t mena you are a liar, we are reading a book as you are doing the more you read and study the more information you will get?

How can you prove me that in 1914 didn´t began the period called end of times, if even the history gave us the reason?
can you prove with the bible is a wrong date? how do you know that we are in the end time, maybe it is in the next 2000 years? why Jesus didn´t bring the Armageddon 1000 years before? why now is the time? you don´t know not until you read the book of Daniel and understand certain prophecy in fact the book of Daniel with 12 chapter the half of the book is about Jesus in the future and the majority of people even realize that. is in that book that said that his preaching will last 3 years and a half. Do you know where is that information? would you like to see it? it is beatiful.

remember the information is in the bible not in any other place if i use very in deep the bible then it must be true, isn´t it?

1 Cor 11:26 uses the Greek word erchomai, which means “to come” The coming here is
in the future time when Jesus will come as King to destroy all the wicked ones, etc.

While in Mat 24:27 the Greek word used is parousia., which can mean “presence” See Thayer. The presence of the Son of man can be seen/observed even now, but people are ignoring these signs.

See Luke 12:38

. 38 And if he arrives in the second watch, even if in the third, and finds them thus, happy are they!

If Jesus had his 'return to power' aka second coming in 1914 why is everything still all 'messed up'?

I am thinking of Hans Christian Anderson's childrens classic,"The Emperor's new (invisible) clothes?

The REAL DEAL
Jehovah's Witnesses Millerite/Adventist sect spin-off

American war of 1812 army captain William Miller is ground zero for Jehovah's Witnesses.
There is nothing that made me gasp in horror of all WT/JW falsehoods more then this finding that it all came from the Millerite movement.

Yes,the "great disappointment"of Oct 22 1844 has never died out... it lives on in the Seventh day Adventist (who admit it) and the Jehovah's Witnesses who deny it.

The central CORE doctrine of the Watchtower, yes the reason the Watchtower came into existence was to declare Jesus second coming in 1914.When the prophecy (derived from William Miller of 1842) failed they said that he came "invisibly".

Ergo,no 1914 then there can be no 1918 inspection and sealing of the 'anointed' so the entire Watchtower Bible and Tract Society doctrinal superstructure comes crashing down like a house of cards

This is the highly credible HISTORY CHANNEL (Roger Mudd) not the "apostates" exposing Jehovah's Witnesses as a spin-off of the William Miller movement of 1844

There are many Christian denominations who make their particular prophetic interpretations believable by adding reasoning that isn't there in the scriptures. You have to really pay attention to catch it. This one's a huge example.
