We have tried everything. He will not fall asleep until after midnight, and wakes up before 6 am. It is driving me crazy, he is cranky all day because of the lack of sleep. This has been going on for a few months now, and has been getting worse. I am out of ideas.

He does not take naps either, and he does have to go to his room at 8. We have already removed all of the toys from his room, so he will literally sit for hours at his window yelling at people walking by.
He gets plenty of time to burn energy throughout the day, but it does no good. No matter how tired he is, he still stays awake at night. We have tried everything we can think of... We need some new ideas.

At 4 this might be a little late but worth a shot.

Tell him its bed time and let him cry himself to sleep. Sounds horrible but it's the best way I have found to get a child onto a realistic schedule. The first few nights it will take awhile so you will have to tough it out and try not to interfere. After doing this everynight he will be ableto lay down and fall asleep on his own after 5 minutes. Just keep in mind your the parent and you are in charge, not the kid.

Good luck

Have him do everything that he possibly can throughtout the day..... If he takes naps, wake him up early instead of letting him sleep as long as he wants. I tell my little sister this also.... I dont know if it will work but tell him that if he doesnt go to sleep then it wont be tomorrow and if tomorrow doesnt come hes not going to get to do anything else because it will always be ngiht time....Idk.. It might work... you can try it..... Also read him books and sing him songs....It usually works.
