It is time The People, as recognized in the Constitution, not those simply living in the United States, should be able to say we want a President who will try his/her best to accomplish certain goals WE set.
What good is it to relate our desires to our Senate and Congress, such as illegal aliens, when the President can override the will of The People to reinstate the immigration amnesty bill he loves so well. It is not something working citizens desire, and it is not truly lawful to allow those who bear the law to change the law if the President favors them over his citizens. What faith can be given to these new laws, when we now have little to no faith of the current laws?
Will they really, no REALLY, arrest aliens as they should be arresting them now, or will it be status quo? At what point do The People relinquish their country as a product for the President to sell to aliens? When The People would be better off as aliens than citizens, how should we proceed in America?

We should demand that he enforce our immigration laws and start deporting illegal immigrants. We should demand that he build a border fence.

They should Bring our Troops Home NOW and work on fixing our own problems here at "Home" in the U.S. Basically realize that.. how can we try and fix Other peoples problems while we neglect our own at Home? Health care, Safety, and everything else that is wrong with our own country today.
As far as Border control, I'm For that. But basically what needs to be done is Stronger Border control on ALL borders into the U.S. Such as Mexico, Canada, and the borders crossed by Planes and Boats.
If anyone can recall, the terrorists who flew the planes in 9/11 came in through the Canada border, so basically ALL our borders need more Attention!!!
And ALL those in Political Seats need to remember that they are put there by the People to Represent the People and if they aren't Doing "Their Job".. then we need to Eject them from the seat and put someone in there that will!
But as far as the Senate and Congress, they really can't do anything unless Bush agrees to it because his Republican Puppets are in seats their too. So people need to Write their State Rep's and remind those that are represented by those Republican Seats, that they are their to represent their people and not Their Party.

The president is given veto power as a check and balance to a legislative branch that may be out of control with an agenda that is not good for the whole country. He represents everyone where individuals in Congress represent their state or district. If Congress can muster enough votes, are strongly in favor of a bill, they can override his veto and the bill becomes law without his signature.

The way to fix this is that we vote Democratic for Congress next year and with the inevitable Democratic president we'll have cooperation and thus get things done to our liking.

Special interest groups and lobbyists should be barred from our nations capital.

We should demand representation in government - but the current gang of vultures are only looking out for corporate interests and themselves.

If there are illegal aliens in this country willing to work - we should put them to work, there is more than enough to do - and shut the f**k up about them 'taking our jobs' because noone here wants to pick fruit or do the other menial jobs these people are more than happy to do.

We should have a 100% withdrawal from Iraq by the end of the year. The war is already a failure - by all accounts (except for those being paid to state the opposite). We are currently leaving an insufficient number of troops with insufficient training, armor, equipment and weapons to die in the middle of a civil war.

There is more - but it is going to take people with the balls to demand it.

We have the Department of Defence, the Department of Agriculture etc. We need a Department of Truth. A watchdog department to keep tabs on what the heck is going on up on the Hill. An honest President should have no problem setting this up.

Elocution. Looking at the current field of contenders, I don't have much faith that any of the candidates are going to be able to repair all the aftermath of the Bush Administration, but I would like our next president to at least SOUND like they know what they're talking about.

He could try upholding the Constitution, like he's sworn to do. It'd be interesting to see how that'd work out.
