How can you believe a book written by people who claimed to be Jews/Israelites when historically the Jews and Israelites were bitter enemies of one another that believed in rival gods and goddesses before their capture and enslavement at the hands of Babylonians and Assyrians? Are you NOT aware that the people who call themselves Jews/Israelites today are NOT what they claim to be? Or do you just not care? If they can't tell the truth about who they are and where they come from, how can you trust them to tell you the truth about god?

If you want references, look to world history and check out a map of the world in 733 and 587 BCE, paying particular attention to Palestine. Find out about the Judeans and Canaanites, their capital cities, and their gods. I'm not going to direct you because I don't want you saying that 'my sources are biases'. Do your own search, you might learn something.

surely you jest!!
the religious community is religious so they don't have to do their own research....they can just follow like sheep those who are willing to lead them by their own interpretations of books written by others. Expecting them to do their own research is like expecting a sheep to sheer itself, isn't going to happen.

Its hard for people to ignore the truth ,but it will happen .

The State of Israel only exists because Christian nations determined that if the bible is to be believed then the land promised the descendent's of the twelve tribes should be given to the Jews .

Strange thing is that that land already belonged to other people .

So governments do not respect the rights of individuals when the interest they have in perpetuating a lie is confronted with reality .

The truth is that every single religion is created by man and not once has any evidence surfaced that a God or Gods exist have existed or will ever exist .

Indeed something created the universe but not once has any evidence been provided to show the slightest interest in mankind by any God or creator .

It however does make people feel better to think that in the end you will get yours and somehow they and their family and faithful friends will be going to a better place .

This leaves billions of people going someplace else and thats the sad part . That these special people going to heaven actually believe they have been given a soul by God and that by following some rules written in a book they will be going to this place and others will be punished .

Funny thing is all the people who act like they hear the voice of God have been proven mentally incompetent leaving no doubt in my mind that anyone claiming to be a prophet who speaks to God or angels or claims to be his son are nothing more then people with a mental disorder .

Sorry, pal; 'Palestine' did not exist in 733 or 587 BC, there were Israel and Judah. 'Palestine' -- full name Syria Palestina, meaning 'Syria of the Philistines' -- was not created until the Second Century AD, following the second Jewish revolt against Roman rule.

Yes, the Canaanites were indeed a thorn in the flesh of the Israelites, and their gods were indeed worshipped by the Israelites: reading the Old Testament will tell you ALL that! That's why God ended first the Northern Kingdom of Israel, and more than a century later the Southern Kingdom of Judah. Representatives of ALL the twelve tribes were among those who returned to Judah 70 years later (so much for 'the Ten Lost Tribes' heresy of the 'British Israel Movement').
By the way way, they're Jews because they came from the land of JUDAH. Geddit? Same as people people born in Wales, though not the same line as Celts, are called 'Welsh'.

The fact that the Bible contains these details about Canaan and its inhabitants, plus prophecies that have been in continuous fulfilment in every century since the Bible's completion, tells me I can trust it as God's word -- more than can be said for any other 'sacred text' anywhere in the world.
Take my advice, and start seeking the REAL, LIVING God, not the Prophets of The Selfish Gene, otherwise known as Richard Dawkins, David Attenborough et al.

for those who think that the non-existent 'Lost Tribes' are heirs to the promise, think on this: Jesus is KING OF THE JEWS; salvation is OF [i.e. from] THE JEWS; and the Christ shall reign FROM JERUSALEM: NOT LONDON, WASHINGTON, BERLIN OR ROME. As a further piece of evidence, 'Brithain' means WITHOUT A COVENANT in Hebrew! Wake up and take Jesus as your Lord and Saviour now, and recognise the fulfilled prophecy of Israel re-born, despite the machinations of almost every nation on the planet.

May God bless you if you seek Him.

Nice try, but the Jews are still the Jews.
I have done research and on May 15, 1948 Israel was born in a day as the Holy Scriptures said they would be.
God said he would scatter his people over the face of the earth and the Jews are the only people who are all over the world and have still retained their identity as a distinct people.
They physically resemble their half-brothers the Arabs, who are descendents of Ishmael,. Abraham's other son.
God is always for the underdog, if you know who God is.
There have been world empires since the Assyrians, the Babylonians, the Greeks, the Persians, the Romans and now it is the Anglo-saxons (revived Roman Empire) who rule the world.
The ten toes Daniel saw were made of iron and clay; the iron being the anglo-saxon, the clay is the minorities of the world.
They do not mix.
The only kingdom that will last forever is the kingdom of God with Christ as the Ruler.
All other kingdoms will be crushed by the Stone hewn out of the mountain which Stone is Christ.

How are we trusting the "Jews/Israelites today" with telling us the truth about god when you claim they're not the same as the Jews/Israelites of ancient times? Do you see the equivocation in terms?

I don't have to research this, because everything you are telling me is in the Bible. They went whoring after other gods and baked cakes to that old evil queen of heaven and rejected the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. Read the Book of Jeremiah in the Bible. They liked the orgies in the pagan temples and the gnostic writings, but what you are forgetting is God always saved a remnant of Jews for Himself.
I believe it was 7000 who did not bow the knee to Baal. God has a remnant right at this moment that we know nothing about because His Word says it. Holy men of God wrote for the Holy Spirit who inspired them.

Not every man can be bought and God has His chosen, His elect.

I am not a religious person. However, I pay attention what Jesus teaches. He confirmed the Old Testament.

And the New Testament writers were very reliable.

Yes, a lot of history tends to happen in a few thousand years. What doesn't add up is how you think this matters to God's ability to get His message across? Lines drawn on a map have no effect on the Word of God.

I don't place my faith in people or books. I mean, I do read the Bible and believe it's word to be true, but I do not place my faith in it. I place my faith in Jesus. So, no I don't care about people who claim they are on thing or another. Why would or should I? Ultimatly, the only one who matters is Jesus Christ.
