Sicko is another attempt by the liberal left (Notice our definition of liberal is different than Europe's) to make American citizens feel guilty about their country. You should be asking, if America's health care system is so bad why are people beating down the doors to obtain it.

Freedom fries was a response to France for turning their backs on us in Iraq. We later found out why. France's government was receiving oil from saddam.... I still don't buy Bic lighters but I'm swaying a little since France did just elect a conservative president. I'll still not support America bailing France out of the impending threat from muslim take over though... We bailed France out 3 times and they flipped us off...

Health care in America is a very touchy subject right now (which is why Moore made Sicko in the first place). So questions about it can get a lot of very emotional responses, but not necessarily a lot of rational ones.

There are a lot of problems with health care in America right now, (although I don't think it's quite as bad as the picture Moore paints in Sicko) so whether there's a problem and how to fix it if there is, is becoming a major issue in the presidential primary debates that are going on right now and getting tons of news coverage.

Almost everyone has an opinion about it, mostly based on how good their own heath coverage is and their political stance (you seem to be getting mostly right wing conservative responses today, based on the liberal bashing I saw in the answers).

I'm pretty sure the "freedom fries" thing only happened in the congressional cafeteria, because it was more than a bit ridiculous.

I don't think the movie came out here yet, or is just getting ready to, so a majority of people here haven't seen it yet. From what I hear about it from previews it appears to be true. Our healthcare system is so backwards and you would think that it wouldn't be because of the country we are...then again...there are so many things that are going on here that makes us wonder anymore.

One thing about Moore though, he does not take the entire picture into consideration.

I think the only reason that they are afraid to touch the healthcare issue (such as implementing a universal healthcare system like Canada) is because most plans (besides HMO) give Americans the option to see whatever doctor they want and without referrals. Waiting times are not as long for treatments. On the other hand, you have so many people who are uninsured because it is so expensive to keep coverage.

I don't know what freedom fries are. I only hear people call them french fries.

I didn't argue, so I don't know why people did. You can think whatever you want, your entitled to your own opinion.

i haven't seen Sicko yet. we don't call french fries "freedom fries" but the idiots in congress did waste time and money on changing the name to freedom fries in federal cafeterias i think. but that was a passing phase of "i'm more patriotic than you." what an embarassing lot. people are quick to argue about michael moore. i don't know why. his movies are subjective, but entertaining and raise real issues that need to be discussed, like healthcare.

I don't have any serious complains about my health care. Its good and I don't need some libturd like Moore telling me how bad it is. No I don't call my fries freedom fries, most of the time I just ask for fries.

1. What Michael Moore does (as with most leftists), is he takes the extreme cases, those specific failures that exist, and extrapolates them into a generality. ie "My dog is mean to stangers, therefore all dogs are mean to strangers". He uses logical fallacies to try to prove his point.

2. No serious person ever called French Fries Freedom Fries.

Moore is a liar and propagandist as he has continually displayed in the past, and we just love to argue over here! We are all mean fat nasty people with poor health care! LOL
