My cat woke me up one night chasing a mouse around the bedroom. I would sit on my bed and watch the mouse as it ran under stuff that was sitting on the floor... I'd pick it up, exposing the mouse, and the cat would run after it.

Then it would sit on the mouse for a while and let it go. I would chase it down and lift up whatever it was hiding under. My cat would then get it and repeat the process.

So, have you ever gone mouse-hunting with your cat?

I personally would have waited for the cat to eat the mouse, then I would have eaten the cat!

Not exactly like that, but i throw the mouse away and he runs and catches it. we also hunt each other in turns, and if I don't catch him by the time he gets on his pillow he has won, so he claws the pillow satisfied, and then it's his turn to chase me. Unfortunately I haven't found out where I am supposed to sit on so that I have a "base" too, and eventually he cathes me and then I get a bite! Not a hard one, but his teeth are sharp!

No, can't say that i have. My roommate has lived in his house for 3 years trying to catch a mouse. My cat and i moved in, and withing 3 hours my cat had caught and killed the mouse.

We have four cats and they hunt everything - - shoestrings, milk rings, toys, bugs, and anything else they can carry. They chatter while they hunt, bring the "kill" to our feet, and we praise them for their good job. Cats do like it when you get involved with them and their activities. I make a point of trying to let them be the leaders during hunting - they show off when they know I am following them.

I've had lots of fun watching my cat kill roaches. It's a bit gruesome but at least that means I have less of a population to handle!

I think seeing cats hunt/pounce is great.

Dude there is nothing greater than launching a cat from an RPG onto an Elephant.

I have tried to follow my cat at night to see where he goes and where he hunts but he just went where ever I went. I guess he likes to hunt by himself.
