Not a 'once in your life' thing.
For example, you are a good Christian, but you are very envious of some around you. You haven't asked for Gods' forgiveness, but generally you've kept all the other sins, do you still go to Hell? Or, because you've tried very hard to stop sinning the all other sins you will go to Heaven because that's 6 out of the 7 sins?

Many of you have answered with "if you're Christian...", but what if you're not, but believe in Jesus?

The way I believe, it's not our acts that get us into heaven. It's only through accepting the gift of Salvation from Jesus Christ that keeps us out of Hell. By opening your heart and letting God have control of your life, you are saved. And that's a good thing, because if not sinning were the only way into heaven, none of us would go. We all sin, we all fall short of the glory of God. "There is none righteous, no not one."
There are 10 commandments however, that God does expect us to keep. *Even though He'll forgive us everytime we ask for it* Not 7. And it says that if you break one, you break them all. The thing about forgiveness is that you have to ask for it. It's not just given before then. Repenting is a necessary part of showing God that you want Jesus to be your Savior.

Keep working on getting the sin out of your life. Now, the only reason a person goes to hell is their rejection of Jesus Christ.
If you are a born-again Christian with the Holy Spirit working in you, then what the Holy Spirit starts in you He is more than able to finish. The Holy Spirit is purifying and refining you. He is knocking that sin out one after the other. If you hate sin you can know the Holy Spirit is working.

After becoming a Christian, that is accepting Jesus as your Lord and Savior, you are saved from going to Hell. We are all still going to commit sin but, we have been forgiven. We are not to sin willfully and we are to ask for forgiveness when we do sin because this tells Jesus that we love Him.

The difference in saved sinners and sinners who are not saved is the saved sinner's acceptance of Jesus, His death on the cross, to take their place and His forgiveness.

Pray for deliverance from envy. God will hear you and remove this weakness from you. God Bless!

Jesus said that the only sin that will not be forgiven is to sin against the Holy Spirit. If you ask God and are sincere your sins will be forgiven. This do not mean we should keep on sinning it means that when you gave your heart to God and believe in Salvation through Jesus Christ that you have turned away from your sin full nature and follow in Jesus footsteps. The word says that you have no obligation to do what your sin full nature urges you to do.
GOD BLESS

All of our sins are forgiven “positionally” the moment we receive Christ as Savior. This “positional” forgiveness guarantees our salvation and promise of an eternal home in Heaven. When we stand before God after death, God will not deny us entrance into Heaven because of our sins. That is “positional” forgiveness.

The concept of “relational” forgiveness is based on the fact that when we sin, we offend God and grieve His Spirit (Ephesians 4:30). While God has ultimately forgiven us of the sins we commit, they still result in a blocking or hindrance in our relationship with God. That is why we confess our sins to God…not to maintain our salvation, but to bring ourselves back into close fellowship with the God who loves us and has already forgiven us.

Sounds like a relative salvation, and goes contrary to the Word of God.

First, let us define what "sin" is. It is an old English word in archery that means "missed the mark". If you did not hit the bullseye, you were called a "sinner". Now there are many sins (little s and plural) but there is only one Sin (capitol S and singular). Sin is a positional state that separates you from God. When Christ died, He saved us from Sin. That is, the positional state of being "in Sin" has been eliminated. Now do we continue to commit sins? Yes. It is hard to walk in this world and not get your feet dirty. 1 John 1:8 states,

"If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us."

However, now, because of Jesus, we can have a daily cleansing...

"If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness."

We are now clean.

A good way to look at this is you deciding to adopt an orphan. You do the legal stuff and the child is no longer an orphan but your son or daughter. This is what Jesus did on the cross. Allowed us to become adopted into the family of God.

Romans 8:15 For you did not receive the spirit of bondage again to fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption by whom we cry out, “Abba, Father.”

Now, does your new child play in the mud and get dirty? Yes. That is what hoses and bath tubs are for. Is he/she still your child? Yes. Do they do things wrong and need discipline? Of course! Are they still your child? Yes. Everything changed once the adoption papers were signed.

Have you been adopted in the family of God through the Savior?

If your heart does not want to ask for forgiveness, I would question your salvation. And BTW, there is no such thing as "seven deadly sins". All sin is black to God. There is no shades of gray.

I do not believe in Sin, because I cannot imagine a God that is prejudiced against anyone.

And I cannot have respect for a God which would allow one soul, even the soul of a fly to suffer for ever.

So I would imagine, if there is life after death it will have some justice in it.

My father was an Atheist, as a child I knew he couldn't help not believing there was a God. We are not in charge of our believes. Similarly there is little you can do about being envious of other people, though you can learn to appreciate what you have, more than what other people have, which would remove your envy.

If there is a God, and God is just, no one will go to Hell.

We don't enter Heaven on our own merits. To the end of our lives we shall be sinful human beings and it is only the atoning death of Jesus Christ which makes it possible for us to be acceptable in the sight of God. "If any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous and He is the propitiation for our sin." (1 John 2 v. 1). Jesus is our only hope of going to Heaven. We rely on His righteousness entirely.

Here is God's promise to you...
If you accept His Son, Jesus Christ, into your heart and confess your sins to Him then you will have an eternal home in heaven!
We all sin daily....
we all need to ask for forgiveness daily, but we will be going to heaven no matter what.
Praise Jesus!!
