I think you are attempting to try to assert that people can be good without believing in God. Well, there are plenty of good atheists, as they are plenty of bad Christians. But we analyze people, as good or bad, through our own standards. If we look at God's standards (The Ten Commandments), we realize that we all fall short of God's standards. That's because we can ask anyone just a few questions and determine that people are inherently bad, not inherently good. That means that every single person is evil, by nature. Christians. Atheists. Everyone.
There will always be outward representations of people that always seem good. I know atheists who behave and communicate politely, as much as any Christian. But what do some people do when they get home, regardless of religion-masturbate, dishonor their parents, and revel in sin. Good, caring people can also masturbate. Hmmm, who's to say that what they're doing is wrong. With atheists, there is no moral standard to live up to (except for society's, which promotes sex and masturbation, anyway). They may hold themselves accountable, but when masturbation "feels so good", they do not realize that it is a sin.
It doesn't matter what I think about people. I think some atheists are really nice. But that doesn't change God's view. All people are bad. If there is any good in me, than it is by the glory of God. It's basically impossible to go your life without EVER lying, or looking at someone sexually. If you're guilty of even one of God's Commandments, you're in trouble when you die because you've fallen short of his standards. We all do.
Now here comes the difference. Genuine Christians (there are few out there) are ones who have repented of their sins and trusted in Jesus Christ (a sinless man who is a part of the trinity; he is God). In fact, Jesus' life is a model one, since he never sinned. God is incapable of sin because he knows everything, and is all-powerful. So because he knows the corruption of sin, and has the power to not commit sin, he doesn't.
We don't know everything, but we do have free will. We can choose to continue sinning, or we can choose not to. Nobody is genuinely good. I know plenty of atheists who strive to be good people, but in my experience, it's only in some areas. One atheist I know likes to brag about how he's going to have sex when he gets to college. Sure, he's nice to most people; he seems to be good and caring. But when you sit down with a conversation with some people, you find out just how much that those are outward, and not inward. I am not condemning anyone-it is God who condemns premarital sex, masturbation, lying, lusting, stealing, murdering, etc. Atheists seem to have all that “good” stuff going for them when they outwardly show it. Of course, they leave their real lives at home when they go out and be “nice, caring people”.
In my experience, the people who are striving to be good in all areas also believe in a higher deity. When I say all areas, I’m talking about masturbation, cussing, lusting, and all other areas. They try not to do these things because they’ve been reversed from their evil nature, and strive to be good. Nobody will ever be genuinely good, even Christians who strive. But that’s the most we can do-strive. Only God is good. So why not strive to be like Him?

I kind of lump the 'genuinely bad' in with the 'truly evil.' None that I know fit this, that I know of.
They may not have been recognized for what they are. And they might be included in any group.

You seem to think this argument is between christians and atheists. It isn't. It is between you and God, so don't plead your case to christians. Confront God with your argument.
