15" isn't much of a theater. $300 isn't a ton either.

You need:

Blackouts for your windows,
A bar with soda dispenser,
A popcorn machine (not a microwave)
Soundsystem (at least a 1000 watts)
a bunch of couches and love sacs,

This will get you in the ball park. BTW, the screen is too small. You need a projector, DVD player and blank wall.

Want an awesome theater?

First save money. A LOT OF MONEY. At LEAST $8000-$9000, no joke.

Ok, select a TV. Thinking theater right ? At least 52" LCD/Plasma, make your decision, LCD's are going to cost you more, but they do last longer than Plasma televisions. You could also buy a projector to make it more theater-like. Ok, so now you have your video, you need the audio part.

Buy a nice receiver. Denon has A/V receivers that support a multi-room function so that you can be listening to music in one room and watch a movie in another room, all on the same receiver.

You need a good set of speakers. I suggest Mirage, Definitive Technology, and Bose. Bose has a very, VERY specific sound to it and you would probably be more satisfied with the other speakers. Ok, so your TV would cost about $5,000. Receiver, $500-$1100, and speakers about $1,200-$2,000. You want it to be professional right ? You're going to want it to be professionally installed. The Magnolia Home Theater store found in select Best Buy's does an excellent job. Installation of this type of system is going to run about $600-$700 total. BUT, the difference is, they will come out to your house and see what they can and can't do, as in see where they can run wires, whether or not they can run them in the walls, where then can place the speakers so you get the best sound, and where the can install the TV in accordance the the lighting and things like that. Best investment in home theater.

They will include all the cords, cables, wires, and all those things in your pricing.

I'm afraid $300 won't get you a Theatre, unless a HTIB (Home Theatre In A Box ) will do.Quantity at the expense of quality.

Here are a few to consider.
