Although anything is possible with God, I think the idea is more than likely symbolic. I can't tell you exactly why it says that in the scriptures, but I can say for sure that anytime you see a number in the bible, it's symbolic meaning always comes before it's actual meaning. So when Jesus says you should fogive your broter 7 X 77 times, the actual quantity that works out to doesn't matter, compared to what the sevens theselves mean. 7 is the number of God by the way, and God is forgiveness.

It's not too unbelievable. In cold climates time is measured from one summer to another. There is a big difference between a Northern Summer and Winter.
Not so in the tropical parts of the world. In some places a year was the time from one full moon to the next - - - twenty-eight days was called a year. So if you take nine hundred moon years and convery them to modern day years, it;s not that old.

I don't... I have a long history of relatives that have lived to their late 90's and 100's, and I plan to do the same. But, I know seeing 150 is something that can only happen in some form of fiction, let alone anything above that.

why not? we don't know what micro-evolution has done over time. we don't have record of every life ever lived.
if a turtle can live to 200, why not a man 4.5 times as long?
hey, people also believed an untriggered bang caused all matter and energy to come into existance. I'll stick with the geizers...

I just last night watched a program on The Science Channel about how aging is not inevitable and that the possibly exists for people living 1000 years or more. It was the "Lifetime" episode of the show "Time".

Yes, I believe it.
Scripturally, the atmosphere of the planet was far different from what it is now. There are so many unknown variables from 5 or 6 thousand years ago that as inconceivable as it seems, it just might be possible.

I have never questioned that about the bible. So yes I do believe they could have lived that long. Just as I could today if God wanted me to.

I have been around for over 400 years. 418 to be exact.
Maybe I can last 900 and maybe not. Why is it so unbelievable to you?
Only time will tell.

I do... but I can not "prove it... and i do not even try... you are free to believe whatever you like.
But... God made the first of mankind to liver forever in The Garden He created... but when mankind rejected God and were cast out of The Garden they began to lose their immortality... and life spans started to shorten...drasticaly and rapidly... There was a tree that gave the knowledge of Godd and evil... eating of that tree caused the trouble for mankind... there was another tree... that was The Tree of Life... being cut off from that tree brought an end to eternal life on this Earth for mankind...

But you must not forget this one thing, dear friends: A day is like a thousand years to the Lord, and a thousand years is like a day. 9 The Lord isn’t really being slow about his promise, as some people think. No, he is being patient for your sake. He does not want anyone to be destroyed, but wants everyone to repent.
