This is awkward. A couple weeks ago, I noticed that my best friend who I sit with at lunch every day was sitting very close to me and her leg was almost on top of mine. When we had a conversation, she would keep just LOOKING at me and making me nervous. It appears that she likes me, and I like her a lot as well, but I think that being girlfriends would mess up the "best-friend" bond. What do you think?

I know I will probably get some "Eeew, gross!" type answers. If that's all you're going to say, then don't answer.

Yes, I'm bi.

more than likely a relationship will end up ruining your friendship, but if it's something that you both feel really strongly about then... maybe, but nobody knows your relationship as well as you do, so only you can have some kind of idea of how things would end up.. if things didnt work out.. could you still keep the friendship or would it be too awkward. for most people it is, but i dont know.. good luck

I know how you feel .. I would be scared to ruin my friendship with her. I wouldn't go for it.

However, I could be wrong. I wasn't friends with my fiancee before I met her (we had only met once about a year before we got together), but she's turned out to be my best friend ;)

If I had kept in touch with her and become friends and not gotten with her because I didn't want to ruin our friendship, I'd be missing out on the best thing that's ever happened to me.

Maybe you should just express your feelings to her; let her know that you like her too, but you don't want to ruin the friendship. Her answer will let you know if she is really the kind of person you want to be with.

Well if you honestly like her more than just being best friends with her, ask her how she truly feels about you. If she says that she only likes you as a friend then you know there is no potential for anything further. But if she hesitates, lead her, gently towards giving you an answer.

all depends on how well you know each other and if you are best of freinds then that can be excellent for a relationship but it can also wreck a freindship if things end up bad. but if you don't try will you always regret not trying????

I think you should just ask her how she feels. If she does like you then talk about how the two of you think it might affect your friendship and then decide from there what to do...

If you feel the same way towards her, then maybe you guys are really meant for something else.

it just might. and u should really talk 2 her and make sure she really does like u instead of assuming she does. because if she doesn't, tell her she's giving u the wrong impression.
