How do i set my Canon EOS 30D on a Black and White setting?

I don't have the manuel for it and i dont know how to set it to shoot in Black and White. I'm not even sure if it can. If anyone knows how to do it of if it can or can't be done.if anyone knows can you please let me know?

I have two different Canon digital cameras, but they are both the same regarding effects. In the shooting mode, use the "DISP" button to get exposure and other options - use the down cursor to select other options in the shooting menu - one of the options is "effects" and B/W is one of the selections.

Of course, you can always convert a photo to B/W after taking it in color using Paintshop or another photo editor.
